Re: [Flexradio] [FlexEdge] PowerSDR v2.3.5 - Some new feature info

2012-02-27 Thread Jim Jannuzzo

Dudley, Perhaps I was too arcane in my request. When I open PSDR, I want all
the little mini windows that I've opened, to open again where I last left them.
I keep Antenna, ESC, and Mixer open next to the main display. Other hams keep
Memory, CWX, or Temp/Voltage open all the time. Even with two big monitors, I
must fit all these mini windows around DDutil and my logging program(s). It's
not all that difficult to store last mini-window state (open or closed), and
last mini-window position. As an example, the main PSDR window's postiion and
size is stored upon clean shutdown. When you open HRD's Logger, it pops up
right where you left it, with the Add window in the last place you left it too.
That's what I meant. Thanks for your reply. BTW, I did just get a
FlexControl, based on the positive comments here and on the DDUtil forum. Jim

2012-02-26 Thread Bill Tynan

Tim:

I feel the same way about my request to have a drop-down menu for the mouse
wheel tuning steps and to have them retained for each mode. One would like a
few Hertz for CW, pehaps 200 Hz for SSB, 5, 9 or 10 kHz for AM and 10, 15 or
20 kHz for FM.

I am thinking specifically of the "AUTO" setting for display waterfall low

this

past the crowd to see just how nuts I really am!

1. I use multiple monitors. I would like to make PSDR come up in FULL
screen mode. It fits one monitor nicely. The 16 x 9 or 10 monitor
aspect

ratio seems to be the new standard.

2. I like to bring up the Voltage / Temp. display and leave it. (My
shack

is VERY dusty and the&^%$%^ cat sheds - I need a warning on the fan!) A
command line parameter perhaps?

3. Expert mode needs to be "Sticky" or something like that. Maybe red
text,

or just make the warning highly visible.

4. Mouse wheel ALLWAYS on the frequency even when mouse is elsewhere
(until
focus is changed anyway)causes me minor disasters. Mouse can be focused
on
a slider and wheel will move slider one click and then go back to
frequency.

It does not seem consistent. I will re-research this and make list.

5. There are a number of setup values that can only be incremented /
decremented by 5 or 10, a rather mixed blessing here. DDS offset and
Waterfall background come to mind.

Again, I want to stress these are NOT serious to me. These are just
areas

that would make a GREAT product even better here.

Re: [Flexradio] [FlexEdge] PowerSDR v2.3.5 - Some new feature info

2012-02-26 Thread Dudley Hurry

Jim,

Some of what you are asking is already there, but one for sure is a
Windows issue and not something that Flex can correct, keeping the
mouse focused on the Frequency, this is a MS issue.. There are
several ways to try to get around it, and there is a Wiki article about
this too.

http://flexradiowiki.com/frsradoiowiki/index.php?title=Mouse_hover_focus-shift

Or you can use the FlexControl knob, which can stay focused.

PowerSDR should already remember the last size and position of you
video, unless your video driver likes to reset everything, and start it
on the 1st or Windows screen.

I think that all the values windows are where you can highlight and type
in the value, even the DDS, even faction of a value.. Try it..By
the way, on the sliders, if you move your cursor just to the right or
left of the slider button itself, left click, then the slider will only
move one digit value for each click..

Maybe this will make your short list even shorter.. hi hi

Dudley
