Re: [Flexradio] Speakers and Mike

Hank and Flexers,

I use a pair of speakers from Bose, MediaMates, which are available from
Sams Club for $59..

What I like is that there is a front volume control, headphone jack and
dual input control and they really sound great. They will work off of
any 12 vdc source (good for running off batteries) and seem to be pretty
bullet-proof.

Just what I listen to here for the HiFi SSB.

I use an Altec Lansing ACS33 3 piece set here at work and they do fairly
well with regard to RFI. I also use a set of ACS45s at home and they
sound great (though I have no idea how they do in strong RF fields).
These both have built in power supplies (i.e. no wall wart).

Hi Hank,

The Altec Lansing VS2220 speakers have an AC input for power rather than
a wall wart. They seem much better than several other systems that I
have tried with respect to RFI when running high power. They are
available from several places...just Google them.

Re: [Flexradio] Speakers and Mike

2006-05-28 Thread Lyman H. Wolfla II
A few weeks ago there was some communications regarding what the best
speakers for the SDR-1000. Does any one have any suggestions for a speaker
set that will be happy with a 1000 amplifier in the shack?

At Dayton I tried the new PR-30 Heil mike. It really had a wonderful sound
in my opinion. Has anyone used this mike with their SDR, and if so, what
kind of reports have you had? I found that I liked the PR-30 over the
PR-40.

Thanks for any input you can provide.
