Hello

 2) I have the Corse custom scenery

installed under my FG 2.0.0 FGData. With my GIT version, I don't actually
have any scenery under FGData but instead use the commandline option

 --fg-scenery=/usr/share/FlightGear-2.0.0/Scenery/

That works fine everywhere else I can see, *except* for Corse (LFKJ for
instance) where I see none of the objects which should be there (works
 fine with 2.0.0).

First obvious thing - the scenery requires models installed under
/Models/Region-Corse/ - so I copied that folder into my GIT FGData (and it
 is readable).

Still no objects. What am I missing?

From the extracted tarball of Corse scenery (under a Corse/ directory on
my box), I had to mv Corse/Scenery/* Corse/. to be able to use them.
After that adding a path to fg-scenery works as expected (I have just
tried LFKJ and LFKB a few minutes ago):

  fgfs --fg-scenery=/home/Corse/:$FG_ROOT/Scenery/:/home/terrasync

using OSG/3.0.1 and git from yesterday (simgear/flightgear/fgdata).

[Flightgear-devel] 2 Questions about library prerequisites

I have 2 quick questions:

1. What is our official minimum version of OSG required for the v2.4
release?

2. What is our official minimum version of boost required for the v2.4
release?

I'd like to make sure the information on our web site is accurate.

Thanks!

Yes, it's a bug in the cloud positioning code which is placing the clouds
in a completely flat layer rather than curved.

Fixing this may be a bit tricky.

We compile the windows version with BOOST 1.44 and OSG 3.0.1 . I don't think
they are required but as they are stable release we can say so.

I dare to name a few of those outstanding people who contributed a huge
amount of their spare time over the last months. This release only
exists because of the excellent and continuous work of ThorstenB, Fred,
James and Gene. Thank you, guys!

And as Curt said: Thanks to all the developers who contributed to and
supported FlightGear. It has been a pleasure and an honor working with
you! Now, I'm looking forward to five month without release activity.
And I'm sure most of you do so, too ;-)

Re: [Flightgear-devel] FlightGear v2.4 is Released!

2011-08-17 Thread Oliver Fels
A thought which came to my mind now that 2.4 is out: As we also have tons of
current high quality screenies in the gallery, it would be a good idea to
protect them from being ripped off and used for marketing by you-know-who.
Besides adding the copyright statement in the bottom corner (which can be
easily removed) they could be watermarked with the flightgear logo which is not
obvious at a first glance. A statement above or below the gallery regarding
this fact would generate the corresponding awareness and they would think
twice before using them for their purpose.

Just an idea.
