Thank you for your input. I have made the revisions to the best of my ability.
When I tried the correct setting, it caused the viewpoint
to be much too close to the aircraft. Instead, I used negative values for the
settings in the second and third views. Also, Models/787-8CO.ac
should be removed, as it was replaced with Models/787-8.ac.

Some more:

Nasal runtime error: nil used in numeric context
at $FG_ROOT/Aircraft/787/Nasal/system.nas, line 193
Nasal runtime error: setprop() value is not string or number
at $FG_ROOT/Aircraft/787/Nasal/flightdirector.nas, line 220
called from: $FG_ROOT/Aircraft/787/Nasal/flightdirector.nas, line 350
Nasal runtime error: nil used in numeric context

Most of them can probably be solved by starting FDM stuff with

  setlistener("/sim/signals/fdm-initialized", func {
  ... start stuff here ...
  });

... but forgot to mention a link ... :-)

The 787 is really the only airliner to show off! All others have
one or the other nice strong side (mostly nice 3D models), but
none is as complete.

I haven't yet commented on what the 0.9.11 release should contain,
but for me the 787, the A-6E and the A6M2 are candidates. (And
frankly, the Rascal and the wrightFlyer just aren't.)

But there are problems with the 787:

- the naming of the *-set.xml files is *BAD*. This shouldn't be
  787-set.xml, AN787-set.xml (What?! Antonov-787?), CO787-set.xml,
and FC787-set.xml. The principle should be to name the generic
type first, and further details then. that is:
  787-set.xml, 787-AN-set.xml, 787-CO-set.xml, 787-FC-set.xml

Please fix that. Starting with "random" letters makes the aircraft
hard to find in sorted lists, or when using command line completion.

(There's a reason why iso dates are MMDD, not the utterly
  braindead MMDD. :-)

- the chase view doesn't "chase" the aircraft, but its view point
is in *front* of the aircraft, which is very annoying. The cause
seems to be a "funny" setting instead of a correct
   setting.

[Flightgear-devel] 787 Revisions and Deletions

2007-07-15 Thread JOSHUA WILSON
I have made some further revisions to the liveries and huds. Also,
787-8-splash.rgb, 787-set.xml, Models/787.xml, Models/787co.rgb,
Models/body.ac, Models/lights2.rgb, and Models/measure.ac should be removed.
