You might like to contribute to this. I know I will...Erik. http://www.obscurica.com/sloppy_seconds.html 1 Second Comp I am accepting submissions for a comp, tentatively entitled "Sloppy Seconds". Submissions must be exactly one second in length. They may be found sound, original compositions, previously released or unreleased.. anything. They will all be strung together in the order they are received, into a massive, A.D.D. inducing, pummeling, roller coaster ride of an audio experience. My goal is to fill an 80 minute CDr in this way. At 60 artists a minute, that would be 4800 separate submissions, with a track marker every minute. I know, I'm aiming for the sky, and I probably won't make that goal. You can help by telling friends or folks you know about this offer. Any style of music will be accepted. When I deem it's "done", submissions will no longer be accepted and it'll be released in whatever form it takes. There is no timeline for this process, but I suspect it will take awhile. Rules: 1. Email your track, wav files preferred, to [EMAIL PROTECTED]. 2. Include your project name and the name of your track. 3. Tracks must be one second in length, no more no less. 4. Nobody may submit more than once. ONCE. No side projects. 5. YOU WILL NOT GET AN ARTIST COPY. Nobody. Don't even ask. You'll have to buy one if you want it. Thems the rules. FLUXLIST: Thursday Art Lunch at 1:00

2006-04-17 Thread Cecil Touchon

I am so relieved by that Rod. Sometimes I feel that I am just beside
myself on these issues until I notice I am sitting next to a mirror.

Thursday Art Lunch at 1:00
Thusday art lunch this week is at 1:00 at the Pho Nam VietNamese
restaurant at 4045 East Belknap in lovely and exclusive Haltom City,
on the north east side of Fort Worth
across from the even more exclusive Sea Breeze Motel, Art Colony and
House of Crack and Pain.  The Sea Breeze is made of that natural red
Texas sandstone and is reminiscent of the motels or "motor lodges" that
Bonnie and Clyde preferred.  Hope to see you there. Everyone else is
also invited of course!

Book 2 -
#100 - 9/24/2004 11:07 AM

An
Intelligence so Intriguing
Everyone Listens

So, a few
days ago,
I came to the
conclusion
I simply have
too much stuff
and need to
rid myself of it at
thoroughly discounted prices.

I am consumed
with collecting
highly
difficult to find pieces
[of text]
Needless to
say, I was doing my
best
[to have a
workable set]
but I do not
know how likely that
is.
I am simply
foolishly excited
over the prospect
[of
providing] you with some
entertainment.::Bows::

I realized, a
tad too late,
I spent
almost my entire paycheck
on
Small
[poetic] imperfections
which fill me with shame.

Another
little tidbit that might
be amusing…
on Tuesday
night,
shut off the
inane chattering of
your mind for a moment
give it the
old college try.
[Don't worry
if your] not learned
in such things.

I knew I had
forgotten something;
a more
involving plot
I was not
even aware of this
rule!
um, opps.
so much for
that experiment eh?
I have tried
several different
things
nothing has
worked of yet.
Oh
fiddlesticks,
does anyone
have any advice for
poor me?

RE: FLUXLIST: No Spam Fibs

2006-04-17 Thread Roger Stevens
Yes, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason. Sometimes a fluxlist
missive doesn't have SPAM written all over it.

Worse - poems for the Poetry Zone. Kids use all sorts, or no, suject
headers. So there's no way of telling if Hey POEMS is indeed a poem or
exciting news about cinnamon flavoured sperm.

And even worse, I belong to the Bri6tish Spam Society - an organisation
celebrating the role of that undervalued and much maligned meat product
- spam.

Hey Ho!

R^^^!!

h, I see.
Really? so each of the Fluxlist postings come as SPAM?
Too bad that you don't have a way to tell (whomever) that you'll accept
them. Considering how often you come back to hundreds of emails, it
would seem to save a LOT of time for you.
