Hey Georg, I have your card along with the others that were sent. I am hanging onto them in the hopes that a deck will be made one day. I did not get too many contributions - only a handful total. So I am waiting until I have a solution at hand... Any suggestions are quite welcome. I also altered and sent my card back to D.Billy... -Original Message- From: Georg Birkner [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, October 22, 2005 12:01 PM To: FLUXLIST@scribble.com Subject: FLUXLIST: Re: deck of cards just for fun... i think i remember that i sent a card (29 of moles) to candace in 2003. and i guess i also sent a card to D.Billy the same year. anybody an idea what has happended to these projects? georg Am 22.10.2005 um 17:28 schrieb FLUXLIST-digest: Date: Fri, 21 Oct 2005 12:39:58 -0600 From: brian [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: FLUXLIST: deck of cards today is the deadline for those who have cards, but have not yet sent them in. the people in parentheses are the ones next in line. Hello There, I am still here - just not on a daily basis lately. Sorry about that. Yikes, and the flurry of activity! As Roger stated - our card project is still on-going - or dead - depending on how you look at it. But for the love of God - is anyone still interested in this idea? Anyone...Anyone?...Beuller...Beuller... I am leaving the original posts attached below for review and contemplation. If it is truly dead, perhaps I can fashion an edition of something from the dozen or so cards I received. Advice? Candace. There is already a deck of Fluxlist cards ongoing. It's just dried up through lack of takers. I don't know if Candace is still around. FLUXUS PLAYING CARDS - Candace LeClaire I am trying to compose a deck of Fluxus playing cards. From the entries, I will create an edition of 52 cards. Black and white or colour are fine. Digital files of playing cards may be emailed to me off list at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (or on-list if you want to share). You may also send something via post mail to me at : Candace LeClaire 8114 Devon Street Philadelphia, PA 19118 USA RULES FOR FLUXUS PLAYING CARDS - Roger Stevens We need rules to play the game. I guess the deadline will be when Candace has received 52 cards. So, why not have a go. The cards can look like anything, I guess, that's down to your imagination and creativity. There'll probably be standard card size and shape - from a practical playing point of view - but that's probably the only restriction. So... Have a go. good morning kathy and all i've been thinking about the only way to legally rekindle a matriarchal line would for the surname to be picked and changed by the female. i've also been thinking that this would be a very good thing. Re: FLUXLIST: a deck of cards - update
kathy, i really wish i could include the princesses, but this is a standard 52 card deck. maybe candaces' card game could benefit from them, but as they are not included in the standard 52 card deck that you can buy almost anywhere in the world, they hold no relevance for the project. i did enjoy the story about the cards though. i would also blame a patriarchal lean to have the Princess eliminated, but that might be jumping the gun/reactionary/slant of facts to suit reaction, as what about the Queen? i'm busy reading a book called Whores In History. relies much on the patriarchal arguement, but with a substantial fact finding and reference into how the male dominated system was actively squashing the original matriarchal rule. don't know where that came from, but... if you would care to participate in the deck of cards, then let me know. thanks, brian
Re: FLUXLIST: a deck of cards - update
Okay. I can do the Jacks, spades and hearts please. Seven of diamonds though if I've lost all face. But I don't quite understand what we'll be doing if it's a standard deck of cards. Why not just buy Bicycle. A queen is always necessary. The mother ruling figure, she is meant to ensure continuation of the line. But no independent girl-chillds. Except maybe Joan of Arc, but she had to dress up like a boy then die. would the jills replace the jacks or would there be both jacks and jills? Both jacks and jills. http://www.halexandria.org/dward447.htm Another highly significant difference between the Tarot and ordinary playing cards is the fact that a Tarot deck consist of 56 cards, and the ordinary playing deck only 52. What is missing are four cards (one of each suit) representing the Princess of the royal family. There are, for example, a King, Queen, and Jack in each playing card deck, but no Jill. This deletion is likely the result of a patriarchal -- probably church initiated -- influence, wherein the female supposedly has no value other than being a mother. and http://www.halexandria.org/dward448.htm The Aces, which were uncommonly important in the Tarots Minor Arcana, and which represented beginnings, otherwise inexplicably became more important that the royalty of the King, Queen, and Jack. The idea of the 1 card being so important is in any other view, nonsensical. And, of course, there is the missing 14th card of the Minor Arcana in the modern playing deck. For the Tarot had a Princess, a Jill, as part of the royal family. But as the patriarchy claimed more and more power for itself, she disappeared into the night -- in the manner that the navy of the (war) chess set, became the bishop. Diamonds, Hearts, Clubs, and... Spades now to send a sound piece/or the 0 second modification (word/picture) the word/picture pieces can be sent email. the sound probably as well, but it may take a bit for me to download. no problem. again, as this is primarily a sound piece, please, well, send sound. regular post is suggested as nothing is more fun than sending/receiving mail. my address: brian 7133 N. Mesa #18 El Paso, TX 79912 the repetition of information will gradually decrease as i receive eveyone's contacable email address. it will be group updates after awhile. this should unfold very nicely over time. the design for the 3 discs will be the proportionately blown up card on the top. more design information will be given as this grows. thanks super much and alot very, brian

sound of clearing throat... I do believe I said Jill of hearts and spades. I'm not up for any knaves, even or especially those two. Actually I was looking to uh repurpose existing Jills I once made for a game maven. With his permission, I'll get the rules from him. RE: FLUXLIST: a deck of cards
There is already a deck of Fluxlist cards ongoing. It's just dried up through lack of takers. Will this supplant it? Maybe they should combine? Here are the original posts. It should be quite interesting writing the rules before anyone's seen the cards. Terrorist snap, anyone? Remember a four of Machine Guns always beats a seven of Timing Fuses. And the King of Hearts is wild. This is because the five of pumpkins has run off with the Queen of Desire to set up home by the River Severn. Meanwhile who would make a bid of Six No Frumps? Send Fluxus games, rules for games and any other odd things that you think should be in the rulebook to [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] GENERAL This project started a long time ago - got kind of lost and run out of steam a bit - and recently has been revived. I guess the deadline will be when Candace has received 52 cards. So, why not have a go. The cards can look like anything, I guess, that's down to your imagination and creativity. There'll probably be standard card size and shape - from a practical playing point of view - but that's probably the only restriction. So... Have a go. My part in this project was to make the rule book. Here's the info on that:- We need rules to play the game. It should be quite interesting writing the rules before anyones seen the cards. Would be happy to receive more. FLUXLIST: a deck of cards
playing dodgeball. i do remember the Fluxus deck of cards project, and even contributed to it. this project is entirely different in that it is a standard 52 card deck. no game to played with them, or any rules needed. no made up names for cards/suits/etc., just a deck of cards. i really want sound files for the deck, but as shown i will accept pictures/words. i think candace's project is great...all mad hatter like. and i would really like to see you make up rules for the sprawl that the project was generating...talk about difficult. i already have planned the finished product for the deck of cards, and would rather reveal it as the project continues, but to help clear things at the present, it is not a paper/stock deck. a different end product, with a limited set of the deck and an unlimited set. i hope this helps a bit, and if needed, send more mail. thanks for the interest and conversation, brian

FLUXLIST: a deck of cards - answering questions
a deck of cards limited: 52 3 discs labeled with a scanned picture of the card (blown up for proportion sake) each 3 disc will contain either the preferred sound file or a picture/word piece the finished package is still being designed unlimited: one/two discs (depending on size of contributions) labeled with a scanned picture of the box that cards normally come in each track/file being a card from the deck the finished package is still being designed as stated above, i would prefer a sound piece (up to 1 minute) for the cards. word/picture is allowed, but i thought i might be interesting for the group to play with sound. this is an object, not a toy . there are no rules to go with it save if you really want to use the 3 discs as cards or the 52 files also as cards. i would figure this might kind of scratch up the discs, but hey, it's your call. again, questions still welcome, brian
FLUXLIST: a deck of cards
as always i forget to include my address any medium save for DAT can be sent to brian 7133 N. Mesa #18 El Paso, TX 79912 for safety's sake, before you mail, let me know what cards you would like to represent. thanks super much and again, brian
FLUXLIST: a deck of cards - a mulitple
another multiple to ponder. a deck of cards. 52 cards. i will supply the 2 jokers. each card being a sound piece. length: from 0 second modification to 1 minute. 0 second modification: a word/picture. in case there are not 52 people who would care to join in (sad case for the number this group boasts) then others can contribute more than once. this should be as fun if not more than a multiple. brian p.s.: a multiple has a proper name, but it will not be revealed until after the first group of a multiple has gone out and been received.
