Problem with MML Import
Hi Framers, I have a download (.txt file) that I regularly import into an FM (11.0.2.384) template file using an MML script. (By template I mean a regular .fm file that I keep to reuse for this purpose.) The text imports as an inset with all the correct paragraph tags and styles applied; I convert the inset to live text so I can edit and proceed from there. My process hasn't changed in years. I've had FM11 for a couple of years now, so that hasn't changed either (updates may have been applied). With today's import, the text appears in FM's default Times New Roman 12 pt font instead of the specified paragraph tags' HelveticaNeueLT Std 9 pt. I can correct this with various tools, but it's a darn waste of time when I'm on deadline! Why would the font change to the default in the first place? It never did before. Thanks, Karen ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com. Send list messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com. Setting the printer to Adobe PDF made no difference. In a related document that imports different downloaded data but uses the same MML to handle it (and the same set of paragraph tags), one paragraph tag was misinterpreted but the others are correct. Using pdfs in Frame12...cue some spooky music
1a. The original pdf is an outline drawing from google maps done in Generic CAD. As part of that process, the original pdf also had a title, a ruler to measure the map in increments, and some notes at the bottom. 1b. This drawing was cropped using Adobe Acrobat XI tools which removed the title, ruler and notes. 2a. The second file is a Frame 12 document which imported the cropped pdf from Item 1 onto the master page. 2b. On the body page of the Frame document are some hundreds of numbers (dots on the map). 2c. This looks just great in Frame and prints properly. 3. Save as pdf in Frame brings the uncropped image from Item 1a as part of the pdf from 2c. 4. The pdf generated in item 3 will be inserted as an anchored frame in a new document. How to fix # 3, i.e. to get the cropped file to stay cropped? Following that, I'll have to figure out how to accomplish #4—which may not be a problem if I can fix # 3. Thanks in advance, Theresa (This is reprinted from Adobe Frame Acrobat forums...because there are a lot of wise people here) ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com. Colour is wrong in my HTML Help output (Frame12)
Hi Folks, I tried to ask this question on the Adobe Forums but their Adobe ID login seems to be broken again /sighs/ (After entering my credentials and clicking login I keep getting a screen saying [cid:image001.png@01CF79CD.FA1BDBA0]https://forums.adobe.com/Jiv - Oops, the page can't be found Sorry, the page you requested can't be found. You can go backjavascript:history.go(-1) and try again, or start again at homehttps://forums.adobe.com/ Great! Maybe someone here can help though :) I have the exciting new FrameMaker 12 and am trying to use one of its new features, namely saving direct to .CHM files Obviously, HTML Help is an RGB medium, and I was prepared for colours in my Frame document to come out looking a *little* bit altered - but what I am seeing is pretty ridiculous In Frame, I have some Colour Definitions (where I've chosen the Pantone shade the client's marketing department asked for from the library, and told Frame to specify it as an RGB value), And then I have character styles where it sets the text to be one of my colours. It looks fine on screen in Frame. (One of them is a darkish green, another other is darkish red ... both used for hyperlinks) In the Publish pod in Frame, in my output settings, in the Style Mapping tab, I see some problems already: The output style is set to [source]. For the dark red character style, the Style Preview window shows the source as dark red and the output as dark red... OK But for the dark green style, the preview window shows them both as a bright lime green! It is not at all what the source is! Then it gets worse - In the actual CHM output, the green is style the bright lime green colour, and the dark red is now blue!! Anyone know why it's changing them and how do I stop it? (Surely the colours are just specified as 6 digit Hex codes in CSS - so why can't they closely match what I see in Frame's colour definition dialog?) RE: Colour is wrong in my HTML Help output (Frame12)
(Oh and just to add - I know that HTML Help is capable of displaying the RGB dark green colour I want, because I have successfully added a dark green footer line to the bottom of every topic, by importing a .htt template file with an HR element of the appropriate RGB code.
