Shortcut Control keys - Part deux
Thanks to all for your previous comments about my problems with shortcut keys not working in FrameMaker. The problem was Snagit. As long as I don't have Snagit open, FrameMaker hums along nicely. (As nicely as FM9 CAN hum along...) However... I still need to capture screens. Has anyone who has had this problem used another capture utility that doesn't interfere with FM? I have the free version of ScreenHunter, but I can't edit the captures. I can upgrade and get the version that can. Does anyone else have ScreenHunter, or another recommendation? PPT import into FM
I need to convert about 1200 pages of content that is in power point into FM9. The PPT pages are currently printed and comprise a training manual. We want to put everything into FM. What's the least painful approach to bringing this material into FM. It's pretty graphics intensive. Thanks for any suggestions! Corinne Kenney OpenTV, Denver CO
Re: Installing Framemaker 9 demo
I got that message after installing TCS2. The cure was reinstalling everything. I've downloaded the Framemaker 9 trial version. After installing the complete package I try to start the application. In the start-up process I get an error 'Framemaker cannot initialize its dictionaries. Either the LanguageDir entry specified in the initialization file is missing or incorrect, or the files in the LanguageDir are missing or corrupted'. After this error, Framemaker quits. Actually, it happens ONLY in Frame. Other apps work fine. And it has followed me over three laptops. FM 9 and FM 7.2 / Windows XP Pro Have battled with this over a year, and 3 laptops. My Ctrl keys stop working after about 15-20 minutes or less. No Ctrl + Z, X, C, M, and so on. Has anyone had this problem? Is it a setting within the laptop, or what? Any help is greatly appreciated.
