Die Filmemacherin Helga Fanderl wurde in Ingolstadt geboren und lebt heute in 
Berlin. Sie studierte von 1987 bis 1992 an der Hochschule für bildende Künste 
in Frankfurt am Main bei Peter Kubelka und anschließend an der Cooper Union 
School of Arts New York bei Robert Breer. Ihre Filme präsentierte sie u.a. bei 
den Internationalen Kurzfilmtagen in Oberhausen , sie sind u.a. in den 
Sammlungen des Museums für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt am Main sowie in der 
Sammlung des Centre Pompidou in Paris vertreten. Pflasterzeichnen, Apfelernte, 
Mädchen oder Karpfen in Farbe schwimmend – die Titel aus ihrem inzwischen auf 
rund 1000 Filme angewachsenen Werk von Helga Fanderl bezeichnen wörtlich das 
jeweilige Motiv, oder besser: das Ereignis, das sie mit der Handkamera 
aufgenommen hat. Ihr geht es darum, ihre Wahrnehmung vorgefundener Realität 
bzw. ihren Gegenstand, die Figur im Moment des Filmens zu gestalten. Die Filme 
werden nicht nachbearbeitet, sondern sie charakterisiert das Unmittelbare und 
das Direkte der Aufnahme im Augenblick des Geschehens und des Schneidens in der 
Kamera. Die kurzen Sequenzen entstehen auf eine sehr körperliche Art in einer 
Filmsprache, die man vergleichen kann mit Bildauffassungen und Gesten in der 
Zeichnung und Malerei. Helga Fanderl stellt ihre Filme in wechselnden 
Programmen selbst vor; die Filmprojektion direkt im Zuschauerraum gehört wie 
das Surren des Vorführapparats zum Setting ihrer Präsentationen: Kino im 
Original.

Für die Ausstellung stellt Helga Fanderl ein Programm von 16mm Blowups ihrer 
originalen Super 8 Filme zusammen, das  von Dienstag bis Sonntag täglich um 15 
Uhr präsentiert wird.



Die Kunsthalle Lingen dankt der OLB Stiftung für die großzügige Unterstützung 
der Ausstellung.

das klingt sehr spannend. Ich hoffe, ich bin im Oktober in Berlin.

Darf ich Dich etwas fragen?

Macht jemand im Labor Berlin Blow-ups von Super 8 auf 16mm bzw. welche 
Erfahrungen habt Ihr damit?

Meine bisherigen Blow-ups wurden sehr sorgfältig von einem Einmann-Labor in 
Belgien gemacht.
Doch Herr Lambert ist leider an Krebs gestorben.

Ich weiß im Moment nicht, wo als bei Andec ich das machen lassen kann.
Ich bekomme Förderung vom Künstlerinnenprogramm, bin jetzt aber mit dem Problem 
konfrontiert,
daß das zur Verfügung stehende Dup-Farbmaterial von Kodak anscheinend nicht gut 
ist.

Alternativ fand ich heraus, daß aus diesem Grund in den USA Blow-ups digital 
auf ein 2K file gemacht und dann auf
Film ausgespielt werden.

Herr Draser vergrößerte einen zweiminütigen Farbfilm auf Filmmaterial. Gestern 
sah ich das Ergebnis, das mich
nicht befriedigte. Er macht am Montag eine Korrekturkopie, aber es scheint, daß 
der Weg über die Digitalisierung
zu besseren Kopien verhilft.

Ich möchte als nächstes eine kleine Sequenz von vier Schwarzweißfilmen (ca. 9 
Minuten) aufblasen lassen, die
Anfang September gezeigt werden sollen. Vielleicht wäre es auch für diese 
sinnvoller, über die Digitalisierung zu
gehen.

Ich selber bin leider nicht vertraut mit der technischen Seite und deshalb auf 
guten Rat angewiesen. 

Ich denke Du und Juan habt mehr Erfahrung und könnt mir vielleicht einen 
solchen geben. Das wäre mir eine echte Hilfe.

Film 16 Helmut Rings is NOT recommendable.

I had a 35 mm Exhibition Print done there.
It had several severe technical flaws, it was unusable for  
exhibition.

As by error his bill of ~ € 5.000,00 had been payed too soon,
he never made a correction.

I had to show the film from DigiBeta.
And still remain to this day with a technically faulty print (sound  
and image!).


Besides his technical deficiency, he is also extremely difficult to  
deal with as he is choleric and doesn't fulfill.

De Haghe film in Amsterdam, De Jonghe film lab in Brussels and   
Andec film lab in Berlin, where recently highly recommended to me.
