Re: [Frameworks] vision of a blind man
Dear Fred, Have you seen "The Unseen" by Miroslav Janek? It has nothing to do with Brakhage. But it is about the untutored eye completely, blind children making films and not just. It is a rare kind of film. All my best, Vassily From: fred trunigerTo: Experimental Film Discussion List Sent: Tuesday, 8 December 2015, 21:36 Subject: [Frameworks] vision of a blind man dear all on the longest day of the year 1969 the swiss filmmaker fredi murer shots his "vision of a blind man". the film is made with his eyes blindfolded. while shooting murer was relying fully on his ears and on two friends who'd drive him around in a blindfolded. he let himself be guided by what he hears and directs the camera accordingly. the experiment in some way, I guess, owes to stan brakhages thoughts on the untutored eye. are there any other references, you'd consider? any related films from the top of your heads? cheers- fred ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
Re: [Frameworks] Reversal as Negative Hand-Processing?
Hi Insa UN54 can be developed both as neg and reversal VB From: Insa Langhorst insa.langho...@gmail.com To: Experimental Film Discussion List frameworks@jonasmekasfilms.com Sent: Thursday, 1 August 2013, 12:56 Subject: [Frameworks] Reversal as Negative Hand-Processing? Hi, I just ordered some Standard 8 B/W reversal 100ASA ORWO UN54 film and would like to hand-process it at home. Does anyone know if it´s possible to develop it as a negative? And would it be possible to use the Caffenol dev that has been discussed here a few weeks ago? Or else, how would I go about developing it as a reversal at home? [Frameworks] Advice please: 16mm projector on Direct Current
Hello, Has any of you had experience with running a projector on direct current? Even if you heard of anyone who modified a projector to run on dirct current (from battery, solar or wind cells, dynamos or any type of electric machine) please let me know. I will use a regular (internal combustion) engine generator that produces alternate (AC) but I must use an inverter to change it to DC for certain safety reasons. And I am not sure if a 16mm projector can run on Direct Current. If it is possible and any of you by any chance have such a modified projector PLEASE get in touch off list. [Frameworks] Act-a-chrome
This is horrible news But we must Act. In Japan users of Fujichrome petitioned and managed a two years delay of the discontinuation of single-8 Fujichrome. Frameworks can now be put into use. And beyond Frameworks, let's try this one people. A lot of great films get made on color reversal, we have to at least try a little. More soon, I hope... I suppose one could shoot negative, but then the options only seem to be video transfer or 16mm blowup, which really sucks. This also means no color reversal re-perforations for regular 8... [Frameworks] Marcel for ever
Remember Marcel Mazé He was an amazing person and what he did for the cinema he called Different was, is and will be so important. He passed away last night. Only two and a half months ago he was so happy to come to Greece for the first time and see the Acropolis. Like a child. Marcel, for me, was a person who believed in cinema with the innocence of a child and I will miss him very much. Please remember what he did, because it is the generous and altruistic people like him that get forgotten from canons and theory books. Long live the cinema of difference and long live Marcel Mazé!___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
