Thanks for the info. FWIW  I'm using Mac Mail and subscribe in digest mode. The 
link doesn't appear in default headers, but it is in long headers. Who knew?

Hmm I thought they were always visible.
I have been using Eudora for 18 years and every post has always had 
the headers.

If I'm not mistaken, some mail clients obscure those, so the headers may
not now be as visible as they otherwise would be.
Thus in gmail you need top-right triangle-thingy, view original, and in
outlook you'd right click, view source, for example.
Then you can control-f on the word archive.
