This is not actually relevant. If the procedure becomes first kernel
then world, it will affect -stable sooner or later. Obviously, we
have to deal with it _before_ 4.x becomes -stable.

And then there is the stuff in /boot. Although not as big a problem,
once in a while it grows a new capabilty which is needed to boot a
new kernel, so it probably have to be installed before booting with
a new kernel?

I suspect that _now_ is the time to try to make thes build at
kernel build time, and also move to some subdirectory that is
not nuked straight away.

Something is seriously wrong with your CVSup'ing.  I have never committed
(to the main source tree) any reference to linux.h and freebsd-elf.h.

I have *NO* idea where you are getting this from.  What is the revision
of /usr/src/gnu/usr.bin/cc/cc_tools/Makefile?  Can you send it to me?

Your sources are unclean.  The files hconfig.h and tm.h should not
exist in src/contrib/egcs/gcc.  You must have run ./configure in
there at some point (don't do that).

I recommend that you delete src/contrib/egcs and fetch a fresh copy
of it.  Or, if there is a Makefile in there too, you could try running
make distclean to see if that solves the problem.

 Something is seriously wrong with your CVSup'ing.  I have never committed
 (to the main source tree) any reference to linux.h and freebsd-elf.h.
 
 I have *NO* idea where you are getting this from.

I bet he ran ./configure in contrib/egcs at some point in the past.

I think I'll commit a change to ./configure so that it tells the person
the right thing to do.

make world is broken ...

The make world (4.0-current) broke yesterday and after a day of cvsupping
is still broke ...

I can't send the output but it stopped in the libc I presume ...
Please check...
