Hi All,

No pecl ports on my system, and just the plain pear port.
PEAR failed to install earlier do to a open_basedir restriction in my
php.ini. That's now fixed.
Ran portupgrade -rf php5 yesterday and had a complete 5.2.0 system
this morning. Result is still the same though, stil segfaulting.

Still haven't found out how to make roundcube or php more verbose,so
if anyone knows how..

must be a other problem. just did a
portupgrade -f pear\* pecl\* and everthing was reinstalled
without any problem.

maybe it's the order you must re-install the packages
php5 => pecl => pear. as example in my case iv'e seen
the following:
===> Installing tests in /usr/local/share/pear/tests/Mail.
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library
'/usr/local/lib/php/20060613/imagick.so' - Cannot open
"/usr/local/lib/php/20060613/imagick.so" in Unknown on line 0

i guess it could be that one of the pecl-extension is the
culprit... (maybe the broken pecl-fileinfo?)

What's defined for 'Command to start' and 'Command to stop' in your
Webmin MySQL module config? By default, it tries to figure out where
safe_mysqld and mysqld are, and also find the .pid file that way. You
might want to try repointing them to the rc.d script
(/usr/local/etc/rc.d/mysql-server start and stop).

FYI I also had to remove eaccelerator completely from a server now

FreeBSD Port: mail/roundcube

2006-11-09 Thread Eric
When roundcube installs, it is setting the ownership of all files under
roundcube as owned by root with a group of wheel:

-rw--- 1 root wheel 2142 Oct 31 13:40 db.inc.php

this then causes roundcube to blow up and throw an error since it cannot
read its files (apache running as www:www).

a chown -R www:www roundcube fixes the issue, but is it possible for the
port to use www:www for the permissions so this isnt a manual step every
time?

thanks!

how do i figure out before typing make what that url is? (the filename
part seems to be under 'distinfo'). for instance i'd like to download
all the necessary tarballs before running 'portupgrade' to make the
actual upgrade quicker.

Just type:

# make fetch

or

# make fetch-recursive

to get the distfiles for the dependencies, too.

The url is located in the Makefile

Have a look at 'man 7 ports', especially fetch, fetch-recursive,
fetch-list and fetch-recursive-list targets.

As for portupgrade, it has a -F (--fetch-only) option to do just that.

You could run portupgrade|portinstall -F to fetch only.
So, if you don't have lsof installed you would type:

portinstall -F sysutils/lsof && portinstall sysutils/lsof

And to upgrade a lot of installed ports:

portupgrade -F -a && portupgrade -a

Run

make fetch

in the directory of each of the ports you want to prefetch.
Alternatively, you can use sysutils/portupgrade which has a command line
switch to fetch only. Alternatively, you can use portmaster which
appears to fetch in the background before building.

Latest/ is just a symlink to the version in All/ (the file is named
differently; Latest/ doesn't have the full version string and is used
by e.g. pkg_add -r). This is just the way that 'make package' creates
the packages in /usr/ports/packages.

2006-11-09 Thread Spil Oss

Hi Ed,

For me it works when I compile php5-5.2.0 with DEBUG, no segfaults.
But for the life of me, I couldn't get eaccelerator to load on the
debug version of php...

Steps to reproduce:
cd /usr/ports/lang/php5
make config
DEBUG On
portupgrade -rf php5

So also eaccelerator was rebuilt
Amended the zend_extension to point to the 20060613-debug extensions dir.

Think I'll wait for php 5.2.1 && eaccelerator 0.96 :D

Kind regards,

Spil.

Hi Spil,

Thanks for the suggestions. I had to do that a few months back and
never did find what was wrong. Probably something like what you are
contemplating, the next release fixed it. The previous time I was
able to use eaccelerator though. If I do go that route, I, too, will
want eaccelerator because I have had a lot of problems with Zend and I
like eaccelerator more. If it works for me, I'll let you know.

Have a great weekend,
