Dovecot2 was renamed to Dovecot (mail/dovecot).

Dovecot2 was renamed to dovecot in July.

As was dovecot2-pigeonhole -> dovecot-pigeonhole.

Looks like everything was done properly and correctly documented. It is
possible that some ports depending on dovecot need to be touched up by
changing dovecots to dovecot. I did see one port was just updated 4 hours

mail/dovecot2: who calls doveconf upon boot?

2015-02-02 Thread Marko Cupać
Hi,

for a few years I had all the components of my e-mail system on single
server. This includes mainly postfix as smtp server, amavisd-new and
clamav for content scanning, and dovecot2 as imap server. Now I want to
split it so every major component gets its own host.

I have first moved dovecot2 to another server, which worked without any
problems. Next, I moved amavisd-new and clamav which also went OK.
Finally, I moved postfix and it appears to work OK, however there's
this console message upon boot saying:

doveconf: Fatal: open(/usr/local/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf) failed: No
such file or directory (copy example configs
from /usr/local/share/doc/dovecot/example-config/)

My question is: Who calls doveconf, and for what purpose? Dovecot is
installed on this server only because as postfix' dependency, and it
does not have record in rc.conf. This is on 10.1-RELEASE-p5, with
postfix-2.11.3_3,1 with dovecot2 option, and dovecot2-2.2.15_2, both
built in poudriere.

Thank you in advance,

No examples or default configuration for mail/dovecot2 ?

2013-12-23 Thread Greg Rivers
I built mail/dovecot2 from ports on a recent 9.2-STABLE machine using the
default options and found that neither the examples nor a default
configuration seem to be installed:

$ pkg info dovecot | head -25
dovecot-2.2.9
Name : dovecot
Version: 2.2.9
Origin : mail/dovecot2
Architecture : freebsd:9:x86:64
Prefix : /usr/local
Categories : mail ipv6
Licenses : MIT or LGPL21
Maintainer : b...@fsn.hu
WWW: http://www.dovecot.org/
Comment: Secure and compact IMAP and POP3 servers
Options:
DOCS : off
EXAMPLES : on
GSSAPI : off
KQUEUE : on
LDAP : off
LIBWRAP: off
LUCENE : off
MYSQL : off
PGSQL : off
SOLR : off
SQLITE : off
SSL: on
VPOPMAIL : off
$ pkg info -l dovecot | fgrep /etc/
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/dovecot

In particular, no /usr/local/etc/dovecot/ directory is created.

The distfile contains the example files in doc/example-config/, but with
the exception of dovecot-openssl.cnf and mkcert.sh, they aren't installed.
Setting option DOCS on does not result in any additional files being
installed either.

Is this intentional?

I found the problem. This host still had ports-mgmt/portconf installed,
which apparently doesn't play well with the new options framework. (I
thought I'd removed it.)

I deleted portconf and now mail/dovecot2 installs correctly.

CFT: dovecot2-pigeonhole (sieve) users

2013-07-03 Thread Mark Felder

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone reading this list is a Dovecot2 user that can spend a
few minutes testing a patch to the pigeonhole port.

Basically, there's a conflict between mail/dovecot2 and
mail/dovecot2-pigeonhole that breaks the ability to use pkgng with those
ports. What I need from you is to test this patch and let me know if you
experience any problems with utilizing pigeonhole (sieve). It should be an
instantaneous result: either it works and lets you make changes, or it
doesn't. My brief testing proved that it binds to the correct port and
responds, but I don't have a proper test environment to go further.

The main difference is that the dovecot2-pigeonhole port could now be
installed in a PREFIX if needed and its docs and headers are in their own
directories: %%PREFIX%%/share/doc/dovecot-pigeonhole/ and
%%PREFIX%%/lib/dovecot-2.2-pigeonhole/sieve/

The attached is an svn diff. Your feedback would be much appreciated.

I sent the following to MIWI:

There is a required update for the antispam plugin as well or else it
will NOT compile.

ports/178502

I just applied this patch and the antispam part of 178502, and removed
the antispam patch to src_mailbox.c

and all is fine now.

Can you handle the antispam part so all get working stuff?

dovecot2-pigeonhole pkgng conflicts

2013-01-22 Thread Matthieu Volat
Hi all,

I've migrated a server to pkgng and had some problem with
mail/dovecot2-pigeonhole that install files in (at least) same docdir as
mail/dovecot2.

I saw this is a problem that can occur with pkgng, but did not find any
recommandation to workaround this kind of conflict, is there a prefered way?
Should I open a PR for the maintainer?

Regards,

Yes a PR should be sent to the maintainer, a port should not overwrite files
files from other ports, this should be fixed.

As a workaround you can define
dovecot-pigeonhole_UNSET=DOCS
in you make.conf

[PATCH] mail/dovecot2-pigeonhole segfault when validating sieve syntax

2012-09-22 Thread Thomas Steen Rasmussen

Hello,

There is a known segfault in mail/dovecot2-pigeonhole released with
Dovecot 2.1.8 which is what we have in ports at the moment.

The segfault makes it very near impossible to edit sieve scripts with a
managesieve client which does syntax validation (like the Thunderbird
plugin does). The problem has been fixed in Dovecot 2.1.9 which is not
yet in ports. However, if you are impatient to get this solved, you can
drop the following patch in /usr/ports/mail/dovecot2-pigeonhole/files
and rebuild dovecot2-pidgeonhole and restart dovecot, and the
problem is gone (for me at least):

-
[tykling@mail /usr/ports/mail/dovecot2-pigeonhole]$ cat files/patch-segfault
diff -r f7ea71241032 -r 6ceeb6421231

 int sieve_storage_save_commit(struct sieve_save_context **ctx)

The patch is unchange from the upstream patch except for paths:
http://hg.rename-it.nl/dovecot-2.1-pigeonhole/raw-diff/6ceeb6421231/src/lib-sievestorage/sieve-storage-save.c

I'd prepare a proper port patch but I expect Dovecot in ports to be
updated to 2.1.9 soon-ish, so this is just a temporary solution :)

Hope this can help someone,

Best regards,

Thomas Steen Rasmussen
