Gigabit ethernet NC6136

2007-08-11 Thread Martin Tsanov
Hello list,

I have a HP Proliant server that has a gigabit fiber
ethernet adapter NC6136. It is not recognized during
boot. Is this supported and if so by what driver?

Martin

Sendmail with SpamAssassin and ClamAV

2006-10-17 Thread Martin Tsanov
Hello,

I have installed spamassassin and clamav and
created myhost.mc file from which myhost.cf
is generated. In myhost.cf now I have:

Xspamassassin, S=local:/var/run/spamass-milter.sock,
F=, T=C:15m;S:4m;R:4m;E:10m
Xclmilter, S=local:/var/run/clamav/clmilter.sock, F=,
T=S:4m;R:4m

However on startup I get the following error:

Starting clamav_milter.
/usr/local/sbin/clamav-milter: socket-addr
(/var/run/clamav/clmilter.sock) doesn't agree with
sendmail.cf

Do I need to edit sendmail.cf as well?

 Thanks for the reply, Jeff.
 I also tried these flags for the configure part and it indeed configured,

YES, I did succeed in installing this program. However, I had to cvs to
the latest version from their cvs tree (KVirc 3 beta 3)
http://www.kvirc.net/?id=cvs,
then run

./autogen.sh
setenv QTDIT
setenv KDEDIR ...
./configure --with-freebsd-pthread --without-qt-check --without-kde-check

and then use gmake instead of make

gmake
there were  missing include files
/usr/include/linux/soundcard.h
/usr/include/linux/ioctl.h
/usr/include/linux/asm/ioctl.h

I copied these from a linux system and then there were no errors.
After that the program successfully installed and I happily run it in the
KDE environment. Hope that helps.
If you have the knowledge you can contribute this as a port,
since I do not know how to do it.

Regards, Martin

I tried the following script, placed as a crontab entry to reboot the system:

#!/bin/sh

result=`fping 212.50.x.xxx|cut -b 17-21`
result1=alive
if [ $result1 = $result ]; then
echo $result
else
reboot
fi

This script works as expected when envoked from the shell, but when placed
as th following crontab entry:

*/10*   *   *   *   root/root/reb (reb is the script name)

the system reboots regardless if 212.50.x.xxx is reachable or not.

What is the difference??? And what am I doing wrong??

I'm tracking FreeBSD 4-STABLE and this is 4.8-RC FreeBSD 4.8-RC #0:

sound on motherboard GA-7VR

2003-01-23 Thread Martin Tsanov
hello,

I have a GA-7VR motherboard with VIA KT333 / 8233A(CE) chipset
and installed 5.0 Release on it.
everything works ok except for the sound. the onboard chip is
AC97 codec with 6 channel (Realtek ALC650).
when booting with the generic kernel, the kernel sees this device as:
Multimedia device found, no driver attached.
Is this device supported, as there is no refference for it in the
hardware list and if it can be made to work with FreeBSD 5.0,
what should i do?

Thanks in advance

  Where can I find this patch? And how to apply it?
  I still consider myself a newbie.
  Till now, I was very happy with my FreeBSD box.
  I began using it at 4.5-Release and updated several times
  without any problems. I do follow stable, but suddenly,
  without no apparent reason I stopped receiving the messages
  at 30 september.

 You can see what they changed at

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/sys/kern/vfs_subr.c.diff?r1=
1.249.2.28r2=1.249.2.29f=h

 It is pretty simple and gives you the full path into your local
 /usr/src/ directory. If you only change the line with the problem,
you
 can rebuild and install your kernel. Technically, if you recvsup,
you
 are supposed to rebuild everything.

 As to your subscription, send which to the majordomo. It will tell
 you if you are still subscribed. If you aren't currently subscribed,
 you need to re-subscribe.

 There were a number of people that were causing email bounces
because
 of problems with their mail-boxes. Their subscriptions get deleted
 fairly quickly when this happens.
