cdrom restatus
Hello Happy Holidays! Hope you had a great new years. Im just writing cause I have a little problem. I must have made an adjustment while trying to round out the compatibility of the jdk. I guess to the parameter node of fstab and or /dev. Now when I try to load the cdrom from any where I get ...kernel cannot have more than 32 cdrom devices. Im stumped. Though, I just checked the site and found a little data. However could you offer any way to remove the 32 cd - cause -df does not show any loaded. I'll fiddle with the -o and make sure Im syntax ok. but if you had to quess -?? Hello again Great Ones, The systems runs muy buen. However when I first built it I used IPv6- just to see. Now additional reading makes me believe I'm just better off with IPv4. What would you recommend as the easiest procedure to teardown current ip and bring up IPv4.My concern is bindings and getting every instance of the files in /usr and root. I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks. __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Hello oh great sages, Thanks so much for your past help. Of course, I have another quetion. I've got X up and run Kdesk - coool. However, the browser -I haven't configured - debating on netscape. That brings me to install or not? The bsd ports site mentions that mozilla is comparatively large and that bsd\netscape 4.x has a security hole and the modules for linux.7x may be numerous, NOT TO MENTION TAKING ANY SUBSEQUENT OVERLAYS IT MIGHT PRODUCE. So I thought I'd ask what you think? I use bsd to emerse myself in a mixed network and will ultimately use it as a backend router/dns/mail server. Browsing would just be cool. I guess what as a novice Iam asking is could I risk netscape 4.x (would it compile and install for the CDROM or do I risk linux? Nothing earthshaking. Thanks. Oh, Do you think I should submit my config for the XServer using IMB and a Micron monitor? __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Hi again, I was having a great time getting X up and then ran into a problem. I hope you can help. Here are some particulars. I run an ibm 350 desktop 166Mhz. There is a S3 86c765(Trio64v+) video chip. The monitor is a micron 15FGX 50-60 Hz(no other info). Both the chip and the ibm type (clocktype?) specs were in xf86config setup. I chose a minium install custom package ie. SVGA and SVG16 and recommended libs. and a couple of window managers. After install, I copied XFConfig to the /usr/X11R6 path. I have tried changing the link to either Vga server(last implementing leaves X in /X11R6 dir.), set all ttys to /usr/libexec/gettyPc 1...8. The only line commented out in the devices configured by xfconfig section is the VideoRam 1024 line. .cshrc and .profile have the X11R6/lib paths shell path = /sbin /bin /usr/sbin /usr/bin /usr/games /usr/local/sbin /usr/local/bin /usr/X11R6/bin /usr/X11R6/lib/X11 Also, no files are in the X11/libexec dir. Results: startx sends message execve failed for /usr/X11R6/bin/X (errno2) then... _X11TransSocketUnixConnect: Can't connect:errno2 this message runs six times and givesup. then... xinit:No such file or dierctory(errno2) unable to connect to X server then... Xinit no such process(errno3) Server err. Don't know where to go from here, hope you can help. __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus Powerful. Affordable.
