eclipse CDT UnsatisfiedLinkError: no spawner in java.library.path

2013-09-14 Thread Gary Aitken
Anyone using eclipse CDT?
When I start to compile something, I get the following error in the shell from
which eclipse was started:

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no spawner in java.library.path

...
snip

The last class (ProcessFactory) is in
  /usr/local/lib/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.cdt.core_5.1.2.201002161416.jar

Anyone know what the missing piece / magic is?

(The compile *seems* to work, reporting errors, responding to corrections, etc.,
but I'm pointing at a port and it's not working yet)

9.1 RELEASE, ports updated a day or two ago.

The build cluster hasn't seen any failures on eclipse lately, for what

Eclipse causes segmentation fault in Java

2010-05-13 Thread Ondrej Majerech

Hey,

I have a fresh FBSD 8-Stable/AMD64 installation and I want to run
Eclipse. This is what I get:

[starlight] ~ eclipse
realpath: : No such file or directory
#
# An unexpected error has been detected by Java Runtime Environment:
#
# SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x000825d6d985, pid=11170, tid=0xa0ae40
#
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM
(1.6.0_03-p4-root_13_may_2010_21_53-b00 mixed mode)

# Problematic frame:
# C [libglib-2.0.so.0+0x18985] g_base64_encode_step+0xe5
#
# An error report file with more information is saved as hs_err_pid11170.log
#
# Please submit bug reports to freebsd-j...@freebsd.org
#

Mentioned file is attached.

I'm using jdk16 from ports. I have also tried with diablo-jdk from ports
with exactly the same result.

 java -version
realpath: : No such file or directory
java version 1.6.0_03-p4
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build
1.6.0_03-p4-root_13_may_2010_21_53-b00)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build
1.6.0_03-p4-root_13_may_2010_21_53-b00, mixed mode)

After Eclipse crashes like this, my system becomes unusably slow: in top
I can see the java process using 43 GB of memory (the SIZE column) and
being in STOP state. Java is then slowly consuming my physical memory
until I reboot.

It is apparantely trying to dump a core:

 ls -lh ~/java.core
-rw--- 1 oxyd oxyd43G May 13 21:15 /usr/home/oxyd/java.core

I need to say this is the largest coredump I've ever seen.

Doing sysctl kern.coredump=0 and retrying Eclipse produces the same
error but doesn't hang my machine.

I'm also unsure about the realpath: : No such file or directory
message that appears in the output, but I don't know what it means and
Google doesn't help much.

I'll be happy to hear any suggestions.

This is a fresh install, so I didn't yet have the chance to upgrade
anything -- everything is a fresh, first-time install.

But yeah, it appears to be the case. Eclipse pulled libgnome-2.30.0 as a
dependency (among others).

Perhaps rebuilding Eclipse with WITHOUT_GNOMEVFS=yes is worth a try. I'm
not a Gnome user anyway.

Does /usr/ports/java/jdk15 not work for you?

Can you not install both and tell eclipse to use the 15 jdk?

You can try editing /usr/ports/java/eclipse/Makefile to JAVA_VERSION= 1.5
but I have no idea if that will work.

jdk15 does work on amd64

I believe you have a defective ports tree. You should have the following file:

Hi Mel,

In /usr/ports/ i deleted everything.

Then I ran a portsnap fetch
and then portsnap extract and portsnap update.

But I still get Missing pkg-descr for dtach-0.8.

my shasum on /usr/ports/devel/patch/pkg-descr is the same as yours

How can I completely wipe out the ports and start over?

I had an issue some time back and I posted this to the list. I don't

Dear mailing list,

I don't know if anyone has noticed or if it's my machine having stale
ports but it seems that to make eclipse 3.4.1 working on FreeBSD 7.1
STABLE with diablo-jdk-1.6.0.07.02_4 you need to do the following:

Do _not_ make clean until you have made:
 cp
/usr/ports/java/eclipse/work/plugins/org.eclipse.swt.gtk.freebsd.x86/gtk/library/libswt*
/usr/local/diablo-jdk1.6.0/jre/lib/i386/client/

It seems like make install builds the swt-gtk:s but that the .jar
somehow 'misses' adding them in.

Have a look at FreeBSD's ports collection. You'll find java/eclipse
as well as many additions to this IDE. You can of course use
the pkg_add -r command to install them, or your favourite port
management program (portmaster, portinstall etc.), or use the
plain method of make install.

There are different versions of Java availabe on FreeBSD. You
can choose between Sun's JDK and the Diablo JDK, and there are

Sadly, I can't provide much more information because I have up

Seems to be a dependency. As far as I investigated the port's Makefile,
gpatch should be fine, too. Instead of building the (g)patch utility,
you could surely use pkg_add -r (g)patch to install it.

I tried make in devel/patch and it seems to run well. Maybe you try
to install (even build) patch prior to a new make attempt for eclipse.

And I do not know if it is important enough, but I want to use Eclipse
 3.5

As far as I checked, pkg_add will provide 3.4.? only at the moment.

And then I'll try to use the download of eclipse 3.5

If it runs on FreeBSD, there should be no problem. If it's a Linux
binary, enable the Linux ABI which should make it run, too.

 Thank you so far,
 Coert

Good luck!

eclipse-cdt debugging doesn't work on FreeBSD 7.0 amd64?

2008-11-10 Thread Mungyung Ryu
Hello BSD guys,

My system information is like this.
- FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE amd64
- gcc 4.2.1
- gdb 6.1.1
- eclipse-cdt-3.1.2_1

I used ports tree to compile and install eclipse-cdt-3.1.2_1.
Running eclipse and compiling my C++ project are fine.
But, when I try to debug, an error dialog box pops up and says 'Target
selection failed'.
The verbose console mode of the debugger option prints below.

46-gdb-set confirm off
46^done
(gdb)
47-gdb-set width 0
47^done
(gdb)
48-gdb-set height 0

/dev/ttyS0: No such file or directory.
55^error,msg=/dev/ttyS0: No such file or directory.
(gdb)
56-gdb-exit
56^exit

The default debugger option of the eclipse is below.

Debugger: gdbserver Debugger
GDB debugger: gdb
GDB command file: .gdbinit
GDB command set: Standard
Protocol: mi
Connection
  Type: Serial
  Device: /dev/ttyS0
  Speed: 115200

As the error message says, there is no file or directory at /dev/ttyS0 in my
system.

I've also tried another debugger connection option like below.
Connection
  Type: TCP
Host name or IP address: localhost
  Port number: 1

It prints message like this.

68-gdb-set confirm off
68^done
(gdb)
69-gdb-set width 0
69^done
(gdb)
70-gdb-set height 0
70^done

75-gdb-set stop-on-solib-events 1

localhost:1: Connection refused.\n
localhost:1: Connection refused.
76^error,msg=localhost:1: Connection refused.
(gdb)
77-gdb-exit
77^exit

I'm using PF for a firewall and opened TCP connection for port 1 and
I even disabled PF, but it has same error.

There is anybody who've had and solved this kind of problem of eclipse?
I'll really appreciate your solution.
Going back to the command line gdb is quite miserable.
I really wanna use eclipse for C++ debugging.

Thanks.

If it wasn't allready, it might be just a better idea to update the
portstree and install eclipse-devel (eclipse-3.4 ) with diablo-jdk16.
That'll probably take less time then completely building jdk15 or jdk16

Why must I install diablo-jdk and after delete it?

If you don't, javavmwrapper in /usr/local/bin will pick up the diablo-jdk
when you invoke java instead of the native-version.

 So :
 portinstall diablo-jdk15
 portinstall jdk15
 pkg_delete diablo-jdk15
 portinstall eclipse

 is that all ?

That should work. Go ahead and give it a go.

Cheers.

eclipse is one of the few remaining ports I've yet to update since

portupgrade cycle but I neglected to have WITHOUT_MOZILLA set which
seems to be necessary for eclipse to run on FreeBSD.

of by hand).

some people contacted me personally for the solution of this problem and
now i'm going to update this post so it's documented here. for what its
worth...

solution:
install cairo from src: http://cairographics.org/news
then link the libcairo.so.4 to libcairo.so.2 in /usr/local/lib.
then run 'make install clean' in the eclipse port again.
that's it.

 ^^

This error message emitted by make says that cairo can't be built from
 your current ports tree.

Update your ports tree, it is out of date (cvsup or portsnap, whichever
you prefer). It's been some months since cairo was last marked BROKEN,
and to successfully build eclipse you are definitely going to need a
complete and reasonably up to date ports tree to get the most recent
patches and make sure you rebuilt the GTK libs as part of the build
process (they should do automatically if needed anyway iirc).

ok.. how do you explain this below then. after i just cvsuped both java
and graphics ports and the pkg_add -r cairo comes up with:

pkg_add: package 'cairo-0.4.0' or its older version already installed

what is cairo.2?!??!

I already tried that before posting. I would hope that an Athlon 64
3000+ would be sufficient hardware to run Eclipse :) Browsing the
Eclipse bug database it seems freezes of this kind have been found in
Eclipse for years with varying causes (CVS, GTK, etc).

Eclipse - bug problem resolution for freebsd?

2005-06-04 Thread Vizion
Hi

During the past week I have posted a couple of reports about the bug referred
to below on the freebsd-java mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED] is also listed as
the maintainer for this port) but so far not received any acknowledgement or
response so I guess either the person who has previously maintained this was
either not around this week or has too much on his/her plate to deal with it
right now. In these circumstances I am is a copy of my posting today to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] in the hope that some could help me identify a
capable committer.
---
Posted tday:
Subject: can eclipse-devel port be upgraded to 3.02 ?
To: freebsd-java.org, [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Body:
I have now found a fix is available by using the 3.02 upgrade. I cannot seem
to reach any individual who would knows how to produce an upgrade or be in a
position to commit one. Is anyone here able to advise on that might be
achieved. If anyone here wants details of the bug I can provide them. Here is
a copy of the email posted

There is a bug in the current version 3.7M based on:
eclipse-sourceBuild-srcIncluded-3.1M7.zip which provides a serious problem for
new users - the help file system does not work.

I understand from contributors to the eclipse forum that that bug is fixed in
the latest version which is, I believe, 3.02. Apparently a fix for that bug
was checked in very recently.

Is there any chance that the new version (3.02?) with any late fixes could be
made available for the freebsd java ports tree?

It would be most appreciated if that could be done as soon as someone has the
time available.

A big thank you , in advance

David

eclipse argouml overview/help file problem

2005-06-02 Thread Vizion
Hi

This is weird -- a similar problem on two programs - no help files in both
Eclipse Argouml. My guess is that as both are java centric they may share a
common cause. Both applications are owned by user dev group wheel but I do I
get the same problem on both when launching from root.
System: FreeBsd 5.3

Here are the eclipse problem details:

I have not shown any eclipse logs because I am uncertain what would be
valuable.
When, on the overview page, I follow the links for:
Workbench basics, team support, Java development or Eclipse plug-in

I get this response:
The document that you have requested is not available. The link may be wrong,

The tutorials, Samples What's New and workbench all function correctly.

eclipse

2005-03-05 Thread kalin mintchev
hi all..

i'm trying to run the linux eclipse on a 5.3 release. i have all the java
set up. when i tried to run it i got:

/usr/local/eclipse/eclipse: error while loading shared libraries:
libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory

so i got the rpm for gtk2-2.4.13-2.1.src.rpm and installed using rpm. i
didn't get any errors with the rpm and now i have libgtk* under
/usr/X6R11/lib

it wasn't libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 but libgtk-x11-2.0.so.400. so i lnked it like:

#ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.400
/usr/X11R6/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0

i also tried linking it under /usr/compat/linux/usr/X11R6/lib.

still nothing...

where is eclipse looking for those libs?

thanks
