Re: [Freeciv-Dev] Tracker statuses (was Re: [bug #16767] fix tech tree after a tech was lost )
Yes, the additional time delay could be removed. One question to your version: Am Sunday 10 October 2010 21:44:26 schrieb Jacob Nevins: ### start http://freeciv.wikia.com/wiki/Commit_rules proposal ### When you start working on a ticket, ensure that it's assigned to yourself and set the status to ''In Progress'' to avoid duplication of effort. (Corollary: don't take others' ''In Progress'' tickets without asking.) When a patch is ready, it must be posted to the bug tracker and the ticket status set to ''Ready For Test''. Allow an adequate period of time in this state for comments (minimum 36 hours). If there are comments, the patch should be modified accordingly and reposted by one of the interested parties. After reposting, the ticket status should once again be set to ''Ready For Test'' and time allowed for re-review (minimum 24 hours). Iterate. What it the status between these two steps? If it is ''Ready For Test'' all the time it will be hard to distinguish between both steps. If there are no more issues, the patch may be committed and the ticket closed. ### end http://freeciv.wikia.com/wiki/Commit_rules proposal ### ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Also all future techs in the branch limited by this root_req are missing. This would make sense if the root_req was a non-researchable tech but it happens even if the root_req is a normally achievable one. All technologies that are achievable in normal manner (researched, traded, stolen, hut) should be visible in the tech tree. Maybe some kind of indication of the existing root_req would be nice? Also, the help system for technologies will not handle root_req'd tech tree properly. It cannot calculate the needed number of other techs nor amount of bulbs. Follow-up Comment #2, bug #16854 (project freeciv): Well, there's game.info.nuke_contamination -- I think that's available on the client, and fairly simple to test I did consider removing all mention of Fallout if that's set to Pollution, but I'm wary of that -- even if nukes can't generate fallout, scripts can, can't they? If we were to do that, we'd probably want to conditionalise helptext_unit() too. I don't think we attempt to conditionalise whether the clean fallout order is displayed in menus etc either. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?16854 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

The more generic Requires %s is better for me and not obviously worse for other uses. (I don't think this text currently appears with the supplied rulesets.)
