Really obvious instance with S2_5 r33375.

Had covered the world in railways in the editor, and moved [l tgt="unit"
id=132 name="Settlers" /] from London to its current position, probably via a
short series of [G]otos. Tileset is add-on Sextant (2.5.04).

Not automatically. First, the default value for 'citynames' is PLAYER_UNIQUE
which prevents that; even with that set to NO_RESTRICTIONS, the city name
suggester doesn't seem to pick a duplicate city name twice. So it's probably
mostly harmless (but should still be fixed at some point -- new ticket).

Details:

Noticed that AI with sufficient income was buying barracks in the same city
every turn. It turned out it was selling it first.

I think it's selling all buildings that are not building_crucial(), regardless
of economic situation (this was not a regression with rename and change of the
function from !building_unwanted())

A new stable release of Freeciv, 2.5.5, is available as source code for
download.

This release has miscellaneous minor bugfixes. See the full list of changes:

Download the source tarball from one of our mirrors, linked from

(Windows packages should follow shortly at the same location.)

Also, some new tilesets from GriffonSpade have been published for
download in the modpack installer: "Sextant", a larger version of
Trident, and a new version of the "Ampliohexbig" tileset.

Details:

Not a new issue, I'm only reporting it now before I forget it again: I start a
new game. All AIs are easy, I click on hard, all AIs are hard, the skill-level
button shows "hard", all as it should be.

But what I really want is my own rules, therefore I pick my rules. Now all AIs
are normal, because I have not yet updated the *.serv file containing "normal"
in addition to a "rulesetdir". And the skill-level button still shows "hard",
clicking on "hard" has no effect:

The server knows that everything is "normal", the client assumes that
everything is already "hard". Manual workaround: Just pick something else (not
"hard"), and then again "hard", to get really hard AIs with a hard button.

Finally I always flip 2 of 5 hard AIs manually back to normal; hoping for some
differences in their behaviour until the new AI trait feature is enabled.
