Hi Bart, you have to give cvs the command line option -r UNSTABLE. interesting! Turbo C insists that the source files have CRLF line endings. You ran into the old problem that UNIX CVS clients check out source files using LF line endings and Windows (not sure if anyone uses a DOS CVS client...) clients use CRLF line endings. So you've been playing the batch file cat and mouse game once again. Next time somebody uses CVS on Windows, sees CRCRLF endings and corrects them again! Ahrgh! Since the joe editor automatically toggles between CRLF and LF display I keep overlooking that kind of problem :-(. Any method to tell Unix cvs to download the files with CRLF? And, conversely, upload as LF? As far as I understand you, I have to upload as LF, otherwise Windows downloads as CRCRLF? It would be great if you could revert my batch file change... Question about the CRLF story and the UNSTABLE thing: Will changes to the stable kernel automatically end up in the UNSTABLE kernel as well? I fear that not... And of course: Please suggest some UN-OVERLOOKABLE (;-)) place where I can put up a big warning about the CRLF caveat and the how to download the UNSTABLE branch issue, thanks! Eric PS: Given the branch magic and stuff, how can I tag some state as all this is 2036 stable or as all the UNSTABLE branch of this is 2037 pre unstable in cvs? PPS: There are already UPDATES again which are not yet in the cvs and not in the file release -- COM port get input status added / nondestructive input no longer relies on DSR and VERSION= fixed (from modifies internal version to modifies setver-able version) See http://www.coli.uni-saarland/~eric/stuff/soft/by-others/ kernel2036-source,zip and kernel2036-binary,zip. --- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
