Re: Hola ayudame Gustavo Lozano

2003-11-17 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano
Tomas, first of all please write to the list in English.

I dont mind to write in spanish as it is my native language but
talking in english here is the "default" :)

Second, writing in the list to a direct person (just like you are doing
to me) is not a good idea, you can probably write direct to me and if
your mail is not spam, you can be sure the mail will arrive to my inbox
and I will take a minute or two to send you a reply, may be after that,
you can take the time to write something back to the list showing your
work and what you did in order to help others.

Well, after the politics, I will take a look of your problem and send a
more detailed answer (than the one with the rlm_counter thing) directly
to you in spanish.

Regards!!

I think this is going to be a "Religious" matter.

Many people likes Slackware
Many People likes Debian
Many People likes Suse
Many people likes redhat
Others Trustix or Mandrake.

If you are new to linux I think this is not the place to discuss which
one is better.

Without being mad, this is a freeradius list :), lets try to keep the

new development: rlm_?????? for detail in csv mode

2003-10-31 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano
Hello.

Somebody came to us with the need to produce the same result of the
detail files in a csv file. the database backend is not enough as they
need the whole bunch of pairs contained in a standard detail file.

Well the question here is if somebody have something near, to place the
records just as they come in the accounting package from the nas in
something like this:

User-Name = test,Called-Station-Id = , Calling Station-Id =
1, ... Timestamp = 123123123123\n

If nobody have something, well may be I will take a look of rlm_detail
and based on that, write the thing down... but you never know, may be
somebody already have the job done...

Problem with Accounting-On packet

2003-10-30 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano
Hello.

I have a very big problem with one NAS. The machine is sending
accounting-on packets every 2 seconds, so the wtmp and rlm_ippool
modules are not working. Every time the packet is received by the
radius, the wtmp and ip_pool dbs are reset.

The radius.log file shows the next every 2-3 seconds:

Thu Oct 30 16:12:36 2003 : Info: rlm_radutmp: NAS 123.456.789.012
restarted (Accounting-On packet seen)

Well, What I need is a patch/way to tell the radius to ignore the
accounting-on packets while the people of the factory can repair the
nas.

Any ideas???

Re: Re[2]: ippool issue

2003-10-29 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano
You need an address in the RAS to act as a gateway...

You can configure any pool in whatever RAS but for example if the RAS is
a cisco you will need to do something like:

interface eth0 ip add xxx.xxx.xxx.1 secondary
interface eth0 ip add yyy.yyy.yyy.1 secondary
..
...

and now you can assign address within the blocks xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and
yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy

The thing is you need to RAS as gateway for the dialin users

Sure you can.
But if you do that you cant get routed to any place.

You need a gateway address within the same logical network.

Re: Modems can login but ISDN users cannot?

First of all Try a debug with radiusd -x

then check configuration may be the user is trying to use the second
ISDN channel and your radius doesnt let him use it..

May be there is some issue with the NAS and nothing with the radius
itself..

Re: rlm-ippool not deallocating ip addresses

2003-08-28 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano
Use 0.9

then you need to constantly see what IP is being used (using radwho) and
rebuilding the dbs.

Also you can test the CVS branch, the team is asking for people to test
the new module as soon as possible.

If you will use the CVS branch ok, if you will use the standard 0.9 post
again and I will post the programs and scripts needed to have the
database up to date.

[Freeradius-users] Change in Subject Request

2003-08-22 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano
I think it will be better to add something to the subject of the list,
dont you people think the same?

Something like this example...

Re: caller id ?

2003-08-14 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano
By default it is enabled as it is an attribute the NAS send to the
radius server.

check your detail files for Called-Station-Id

If you dont have the information in the detail files, then your NAS is
not sending the information, may be because the lines attached are not
configured to get called-id

Re: Log file

2003-08-14 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano
Diego First of all I think you sould read the entire documentation
before you try the software, also please read the entire FAQ.

Also to know a little about the RADIUS thing will be great.

Well, regarding your last question, you dont run your server with any
arguments at all, just run it as radiusd

the detail files are created on the fly and rotated every XX time if you
have configured the right things in radiusd.conf

see the file doc/rlm_detail from the source distribution.

Re: Sorry for the insistence. (Logs)

2003-08-14 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano
That may be dont know, is because you have radactdir/asgard/detail-x

remove the "asgard" thing.

It should be something like
detailfile = ${radacctdir}/%{Client-IP-Address}/detail-%Y%m%d

Diego.

Al the information you want is stored in the detail files.

var/log/radiusd/radacct/NAS-IP/detail*

Re: Experience

2002-10-29 Thread Gustavo A. Lozano

Hello

We have using freeradius for over 2 years now.
ahmm the count of RAS is like 35 in this moment.
Platfforms: Linux Intel and Solaris Sparc.
All support over LDAP right now, and works pretty cool.

Pros: everything
cons: ahmm, as we managed a central site, and the Terminal servers are around
the country, there are times of "great delay" and the querys dont work, so
users cannot get authenticated.

We have worked a lot in that issue and now it is almost 99.9% of logins
authenticated.
