Documentation for xmltv.py is at http://www.funktronics.ca/python-xmltv

You could also send me the grabber or the output and I could take a look at
it.

your TV or monitor. Record server listens on the network for client connections and
will communicate to a client using XML-RPC.

[Freevo-devel] xmltv question

2004-01-28 Thread Peter Svensson
Hi! I'm trying to adapt a Swedish multi-headed tv-grabber to freevo-land
xmltv output.

Everything parses fine by freevo, and even though the resulting TV.xml
contains a large number of channels, only those I've defined in my
local_conf.py gets chosen. All fine and well.

But when entering the tv guide all the channels reads "No data defined for
this channel" or somesuch.

I've turned on debugging, but that doesn't tell me more. Any suggestion?
Obviously I'll have to hike up in the xmltv.py mountains soon enough, I
suppose..

Looks nice. This you named the mail 'thoughts', here are mine:

o The new watermark icons look nice. If you add them to cvs, make sure
you don't override the old once to have a different look in the
  different skins.

o What about v_align=center for the images in the video info?

o Same for h_align for the audio covers. They have less space on the
  left than on the right.

o The icons for up/down don't look like they belong to the same skin,
they look too different from the rest.

o To remove old skins: what about renaming blurr2 to blurr and remove
the old one? And to have a non'description view: add default as
  second view after pressing DISPLAY.

o You should also set same more fonts in your skin. Basic includes
  fonts for plugins (e.g. weather):

I'd like to add some of the scheduled recordings, etc. stuff but
they're not themable at all right now, and while I use them daily,
they don't really match the look of the skin :) If you felt inclined
to even allow a bitmap background for the popups, that would be
something...

Those shots look awesome. I think it would be even cooler to add more
(after the next release at least - this is great for a preview as it
is), perhaps the mailreader plugin, tiny_osd usage, scheduling

[Freevo-devel] thoughts.

2004-01-28 Thread Aubin Paul
I made a small set of preview screenshots to show some of the neat
stuff in Freevo 1.5 (?) and I'd like to announce it on the website,
but thought I'd run it by the other devs first:

http://freevo.sourceforge.net/preview/

I didn't take shots of any other skins since I just wanted this to be
a sort of mini-feature tour. When we're ready to do a release, I'll do
a set of screenshots for the Noia skin as well.

There are alt-tags but no captions yet...

You can see it when playing an ssr file which will display a comment
with a picture. See the wiki on how to create an ssr file.

We do it now... it's a text message, but since the text is not really

  Hi there

Well since sqlite handles locking on
file level there is no problem in accessing the same file (aka db) from
several threads or programs at the same time. Ive have used this
extensivly in a coding project Im in 3 diff programs and each
having 5+ thread open to the same db file at the same time.

Not tried it from diff machines
though but in teory it should work just fine.

An easy test is to open the db file
with the sqlite tool at the same time as freevo and watch it updating
the db.

  Joakim
  Yes,
but as I understand it it is imposible for another application to
access sqlite at the same time as freevo ? (or am I wrong here ?)
ie. have my webserver access the data at them same time that freevo is
updateing it without using freevo as a frontend to the database (notice
the webserver is not freevo in this case).
And what I wanted was not to change to mysql (especially as I dont
really like mysql) but to have an open database standard something
along the lines of an object persistance layer like jdo/hibernate/* ie.
to move the database code away from freevo and allow it to be swapped
at will. I think this was mentioned previously.
