[Freevo-users] DXR3 again...
Hi all, I've been subscribed to the freevo list for a while in an attempt to avoid having to ask stupid questions about setting up freevo... But... I have freevo 1.3.2pre4 running... although with out tuner or tv out... which is my problem... (forget the tv tuner for now I think I can sort that one myself) the tv out with the DXR3 is giving me a real headache... I've been using linux for years now but not really done anything in the way or kernel/driver stuff (compling the odd app or util I can do). The docs at http://dxr3.sourceforge.net/howto.html#compilinggo on about changing KERNEL_LOCATION to wherever you current kernel source tree is... (REDHAT 9 by the way) but the problem is i've installed newer kernels via redhat network and the src option was turned off (Plus my system is an old BP6 dual processor so I have both SMP and single pro kernels) and I really don't know where to start looking for a 2.4.20-19.8 or .9 smp kernel source in either my own distro (lib would be my guess) or on the net... and I have been looking on and off for the past few days... Can I not get a precompled driver as a module? Did I read in the mailing list that it is supported in the run time now? So does that mean I don't need to mess about with all this driver compliation? Cheers, Mark
Re: [Freevo-users] Question to all people who use Freevo with a Radeon and tv ou
My radeon 7000 just simply outputs to the monitor and TV if the TV is connected at boot. To get X working I had to specify the 'vesa' driver. Sorry if this too vague, but really, it just worked for me. I've currently got no idea how to set it up under Freevo so the tv out works, I'm not too bothered if it requires X since I've since compiled and installed it on my Freevo Gentoo box. Got it working using the framebuffer so it outputs to the monitor but it tends to either freeze up or just come up with a black screen for a second or so then goes back to the freevo menu screen. I've got a 32MB Radeon 7000 here with two vga outs and a single s-video out. Re: [Freevo-users] New RPM Release Date?

RPM releases depend on freevo tgz releases. I don't have a SPEC file to regenerate the runtime, it only repackages what was included in the full binary tgz. T.C. Re: [Freevo-users] (HELP!) pygame.error: No available video device
Do you have SDL_VIDEODRIVER exported as something wierd? Try export SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 then start freevo. Also you should change display in freevo.conf to be x11 not xv because using x11 tells mplayer to try xv first now. -Rob Roh . wrote: i posted a message a few days ago but alas, no help yet :( ..im sure someone else has had this problem before, yes?
