is not working (no wonder, other then the setuo.py the src directory

2. The link on the description page

I hope someone can give an update on waht is going on with the

I also want to include a wiki snapshot in 1.5.3. But if you look at
the wiki, most informations still need to be added from the old

work on the 2.0 wiki from now on and Tanja can't do this alone. And it
would be nice if the informations from the website and the doc in the
Docs dir could be added to the new wiki. Maybe informations from the
 mailing lists, too.

OK, most of the wiki is ported to the new one. One request for Nvidia
and DXR3 users: please port the two missing pages to the new wiki. I
will remove the old one when I release 1.5.3 and the informations will
get lost if nobody ports them. Also add more stuff you know to the new
wiki. And a big thanks to all people helping to create the new wiki.

Now to Freevo 1.5.3 and 2.0:

Freevo 1.5.3:
-

I included all patches I know of and tried to fix all known bugs.
Please check out cvs with the tag rel-1-5 and test it. I won't release
1.5.3 until I get a positive feedback on the following changes:

1. imdb should work again
2. the lcd plugin doesn't crash anymore
3. the tvtime plugin is working with the latest version of tvtime

Release date should be next sunday. Again, please try cvs and report
bugs (wait until tomorrow because sf cvs is behind some hours). I also
accept small patches and translation updates.

Freevo 2.0 pre1:

We need more help. We need someone fixing the games section and the
command and headline plugin. Please send a patch and if you want to
maintain this sections, we can also talk about cvs access.

[Freevo-users] Re: Random Recursive Audio Playlists

2005-01-09 Thread A. J. Schiavone
Dan,

The feature you need is already built into freevo.
What you need to do is to navigate to your music
directory and then hit the e button on your keyboard.
This will bring up a submenu with playback options.

recursive=1/media/music/directory
   /files

I named this file music.fxd and placed it at
/media/music/music.fxd

This directory does not have any music files in it,
only subdirectories filled with music files. The
problem is that this playlist does not show up in
freevo. I am using freevo version 1.5.1.

2005-01-09 Thread rupert t

I know there is a way to get PVR 350 output to work.
Im talking about a Siemens DVB-c Card in may case.

BTW:
Do i really need to join the freevo developers to try out freevo 2
or can i simply get the normal CVS?

thx

[Freevo-users] How to handle recordings on changing TV.xml listings?

2005-01-09 Thread Geert Decorte
Anybody a idea?

A bit more specific now:

In Belgium, the TV channels have the bad habbit of changing the
programmation to often. Probably commercial reasons are part of it, but
this is beyond scope of my question.

If I schedule a recording a week in the future, basicly freevo will add a
starttime, stoptime, a channel, and a name for the file.
And the recording start at foreseen hour.
But if the program listings have been altered? The program starts 30
minutes earlier? or later? looks like there's a part of the record lost.
(note: for this reason I update the TV.xml 3 times a day, wich isn't a
luxuary)

anyway to do something with a showview code?

[Freevo-users] [PATCH] Headlines (was: Re: [Announce] Freevo release plan)

First try at a patch for the headlines plugin. As I mentioned before,
I'm not fully up to speed with all the GUI stuff. But these changes seem
to work on my end.

The plugin also has some extra code for recognizing RSS versus Atom
feeds. Both feed types are quite similar for the stuff we get from them.

There is a configuration value config.MAX_HEADLINE_AGE. Maybe this one
should be added to the main configuration file(s). The extra check if
the value exists and the default value should then be removed from the
plugin code.

Got one more which seems related -- when I play music, detach mplayer and

very similar error log:

I am really wondering -- I can't be the only one using this scenario, am
I? I tried to look a bit into the source but I have to admit I need a
crash-course in Python first before I would even remotely understand what
is going on there.

Maybe I should re-phrase my question: Anyone out there using freevo 1.5.2

Tnx,

PS: Are the developers of Freevo active on this list or should I try to
seek help on the devel-list instead?

Thanks, it also works here and it's in cvs. One big problem with your
patch is that it doesn't keep the main loop alive. When the headlines
are fetched, Freevo is blocked. This is bad for keeping mbus and other
timers alive. One bad solution would be to wrap it in a thread (using
util.fthread.call). The best way would be to use the non blocking
socket in fsocket. Maybe we need to good way to combine fsocket with
the urllib.

I'll take a look at the possibilities. Non-blocking seems the way to go,
but threading should be do-able too. Either way, I'll try to fix it :)
