Re: [Freevo-users] Re: mevas slow?
I made some improvements to dfbmga window patch. I added crtc1 option. With this mplayer can play accelerated video on first head. Unlike bes, primary layer supports stretch blitting so picture can be viewed in fullscreen. Also support for windows in enabled for crtc1. Primary layer doesn't support YV12 surface so you must add -vf yuy2. This new patch is for clean (not previously patched vo_dfbmga.c). I also changed my test app. Run it with test layer video_file1 [video_file2]. Instead of layer you must put crtc1 or crtc2. Be sure that there isn't primary-layer=X in /etc/directfbrc. video_file2 is file the will be played in a small window (picture in picture). Test app creates three windows. One is fullscreen video_file1, one is for PIP and third for osd. Osd is transparent (ARGB surface). CPU usage is small, I got 35% for playing two mpeg2 videos and around 65% for playing two xvid videos on PIII 800. Exit from app with ESC or Q. mplayer_PIP_customOSD.tar.bz2 Description: Binary data

I'm still working on the directfb imagelib for mevas and will hopefully be done soon, I also have to add a bit to pydirectfb. I'm fighting a killer neckache but might have this working today anyways. Once this is going I'd like to get Freevo creating these windows and test some OSD over mplayer. Another neat experiment will be to preview a tv channel in the corner of the guide. -Rob --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. Seems that the freevo keymapping doesn't get forwarded into mplayer correctly. Haven't found out yet why, though. Also try '/' and '*' on the keypad. I also found that freevo keymapping never translated correctly to mplayer... [Freevo-users] Freevo Bootsplash
Hi! For those of you, who sometimes have to reboot the Freevo box I made a Freevo/Debian bootsplash (in 800x600 an 1024x768) available here: http://www.blackmac.de/stuff/freevodebian.tar.gz The silent one does not have a progress bar, because I figured the bar from Freevo itself starting up would be enough. [Freevo-users] mplayer problem
mplayer plays movie and audio files just fine but doesn't seem to be able to get input from my TV tuner card. (This is the last thing I need to finish before finally getting this thing into my living room.) Has anyone else had this problem? It looks like it sees the tv signal OK. [Freevo-users] Fbdev + fullscreen + video
Hi All, I have some serious issues. gentoo + EPIA M10K Xorg-x11 - 6.8.0 X works, Can get fullscreen freevo, plays audio/thumbnails great Once I run Mplayer to play video, everything crashes. can't see anything and I think the box crashes. Xorg-x11-unichrome - (epia-kalf.org) X works. FUll screen. mplayer does not crash, audio is heard, can see the player GUI. but no Video Fbdev Freevo works. Not fullscreen. (if I lower Res to 6480x480 via vga=788, I can get virtual fullscreen on tvout.) Playing video will result in native resolution. Fullscreen is not achieveable. (but depending on the vga=xxx mode, the video gets bigger :-) ) directfb. Freevo Works. No Fullscreen. Video plays but color is all off. Here's the catch. mplayer will work fullscreen when used from the command line. Just code mplayer /home/media/codemonkey.mpg /code I've tried hacking the mplayer.py source to not include screenh/screenw but it seems it does not honour it at all. I've also tried to erase all options MPLAYER_ARGS_DEF in /usr/share/freevo-config.py to no success. Xine will play fullscreen when used as the alternate plaver. (xine -Vfb /home/media/codemonkey.mpg works fullscreen) but audio will go off after 10-30 secs into the film. Either that or it will not sync with the video. What are my choices? I'm compiling Xorg-6.8.2 as I write this to see if it helps. Does anyone has any better experiences to share or anything like that??
