Re: [Freevo-users] Re: new plugin for freevo1.5.3: automatic shutdown and wakeup
Hi Jacques Thanks for testing. I am happy to hear that it is working now. The electricity saving was actually the reason, why we were wanting this feature, afterall we are just poor students :-) BTW, there will be a similar feature in freevo2.0. Hi Tanja, The new version of the plugin works fine now even with the screen saver. It's a very good job and I am surprised than nobody else seems to be interested by this "ecological" plugin (vey useful for saving electricity...). Thanks for the help. I have a low budget *-tec casing wich looks like shit, but with an zahlmann cpu cooler, passive cooled vga, an heavy duty Hitachi hard disk and a GOOD fan for in the power supply it's at least whisper silent. So thats 30 times of turning up the volume 1 decibel in a silent room, not very loud really. Now a TV you'll normally have on at about 60db which is about talking volume fairly close by, but 30db is exponentially smaller. so 60db is far louder than 30db. Also consider that different wavelengths have different bandwidths and carry further, therefore a 10db bass sound will be a 9db bass sound from 50ft away indoors whereas a 10db treble sound will be a 1db sound from 50ft away indoors. Bass carries because it moves a larger volume of air slower, and therefore effects a greater range. So if you can hear your fan, turn up the tv. ;) Regards, Karl --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games. Matt -- I just bought a black CoolerMaster Cavalier (http:// www.coolermaster.com/index.php? LT=english&Language_s=2&url_place=product_list&p_class=610). It is great and reasonably priced. Although it does have an lcd, I bought a 20x4 blue one for my last htpc -- after a little dremel tool modding, it looks great. The analog dial real adds to the coolness factor. --Matthew Charles Goeden http://fscklaw.com On May 9, 2005, at 11:34 AM, Matthew Bettencourt wrote: I hate to rehash an old subject, but, i am looking for a case/power supply system that looks nice and is reasonably quite. Re: [Freevo-users] repeating remote buttons
In your lircrc file you would define a button like so; begin prog = freevo button = menu config = EXIT repeat = 3 end My remote requires repeat = 0/1/2/3 in different circumstances, the lircrc documentation says; repeat tells the program what shall happen if a key is repeated. A value of zero tells the program to ignore repeated keys. Any other positive value 'n' tells the program to pass the config string every 'n'-th time to the according application, when a key is repeated. The default for repeat is zero. So basically, my menu/EXIT button repeats 3 times on one press, well actually once for pressed, once for down (which increments while held) and once again for released, other buttons on my remote behave differently. In this instance I want to ignore upto 3 repeats regardless of any increment to the repeat counter. You may wish to read more about this configuration on this page http://www.lirc.org/html/configure.html#lircrc_format Regards Karl, On Mon, 2005-05-09 at 14:49 +0300, Marius Stan wrote: > Jesper Mathiassen wrote: > > > > >Consider repeat = 0 ..
