[Freevo-users] No sound.....
Dear [EMAIL PROTECTED], I have freevo up and running with one exception...no sound I have followed the wiki/faq etc the various tv watching programs (Xawtv, TVTime etc) have always worked perfectly for me all I was looking for was a nice easy to use DVR. So given the normal TV programs work fine (so long as I unmute line-in as the TV card goes into the sound card via a short connector stereo-jack cable)any ideas? Anything really obvious? I am using ALSA have tried all the various things wrt ALSA:default etc instead of /dev/dsp etc all to no avail. I am running on Mandriva 2006 have installed the std rpm via urpmi from the contrib repository. I do get an error in the system out if I run freevo from the commandline to the effect of Plugin mixer not found. BTW how come the shutdown for Freevo doesn't un-mute the line in? It was somewhat tedious to have to keep un-muting it as I switched between TV apps freevo testing the sound. TIA Adam - Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security? Re: [Freevo-users] No sound.....
I dont understand you totally, but I can say that alsa is a very big module/program which has a lot of tools, try to use alsamixer and alsa-tools/alsa-utils, to restore volume at startup. Re: [Freevo-users] Help weird happenings!
We need more info on your setup. What dist. are you using? when was the last reboot? Are you sure there are no automatic updates going on.have you check your syslog and dmesg? Now when I start to watch TVTime with my bttv tv card, I only get sound the first time I watch a channel. Every time after that it doesn't unmute and turn up line-in. It used to do that just fine! I checked my local_conf.py and it has the CONTROL_ALL_AUDIO=1. Also my tv_grab_na_dd and epg is acting weird. When I started the epg, no data was loaded so I manually ran it. Same. I removed the TV.xml.pickled file and TV.xml files and re-ran things and now I only see data up to the half-hour I'm watching. Suggestions? Thx Norm - Using Tomcat but need to do more?
