Re: [Freevo-users] LinuxMCE - anyone tried this?
Last time looked LinuxMCE was based on MythTV. That particular setup in the video was using some really oddball but cool hardware using the x10 protocol stuff for home automation. Nice piece of advertising and Linux propaganda though. Evan On 3/22/07, John Molohan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Jason Tackaberry wrote: > > John Molohan wrote: > > > >> Just came across this. Actually, I use kdm to boot freevo (as a window manager). Yes, quite strange, but that was the first way that I managed to make it work. And then, the KISS principle... In my new attempt, I'll try to make things simpler, so I was wondering: do I need X at all? Can I run everything in framebuffer? I think I should, as that's how geexbox works, right? So mplayer/xine will work, but... what about mame/fmsx/others? Will they work? Remember my video hardware is a radeon 9100igp, and there's no way to have 3d+tvout. So, if I want to run freevo in framebuffer, what do I need? Alberto - Take Surveys. Earn Cash. As others have said, directfb is the way to go. Great video quality. Possibility of true RGB TV output if you're willing to make your own cable. Re: [Freevo-users] Music album covers aren't shown anymore in 1.7.0
I think this is the default icon for this folder. In Mandriva (with KDE), when I open my personal folder, folders like 'Music' and 'Documents' have another color, with an icon in it, so I guess this is the folder icon with a speaker. See this for example: http://images.pcworld.com/reviews/graphics/123555-homeFolders_b.jpg (Just an image I found with google images, I didn't make this) 2007/3/27, Dirk Meyer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: "Duncan Webb" wrote: >> I removed the file from my system, but, this .directory file is >> autogenerated by the Mandriva installer. >> The .directory file from the music directory of another user on the system >> look like this: >> >> [Desktop Entry] >> Hidden=true >> Icon=music-mdk.png >> >> This suddenly explains why Freevo was searching for a 'sic-mdk.png' file >> (with the two first characters chopped of, like mentioned in the Picture >> folders threat from Christian Lyra). > > Looks like a bug in kaa.metadata. > > AFAIK kaa.metadata does not support the hidden and icon attribute. It only > supports name/title, comment, image plus one other, which I can't quite > remember. Current SVN supports Icon, Name and Comment. There is no Image key specified. But kaa.metadata does not honor Hidden yet. http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s05.html What is music-mdk.png? Is it dome sort of default? IMHO kaa.metadata should honor icon settings in a .directory. The bug with the missing first two characters is gone in current svn but kaa.metadata will still use music-mdk.png.
