If I press the OK button I get: no event mapping for key 'SELECT' in context 'video'. I cannot find a vlc equivalent for e.g. Event(VIDEO_SEND_XINE_CMD). Is there some other configuration file I should be aware of to get remote control commands through to vlc? Thanks. I get the same even on freevo 1.9.0 Cheers, Bernie Does VLC have a 'slave' mode that supports being passed commands? If not then that's the problem, if it does a quick look at the plugin code comparing it to the xine plugin will show whether the remote events are configured at all or not. [Freevo-users] TVTime setup help
Hi All, I would like to try out TVTime with freevo. Can someone help me with how to tune in my DVB-S card with TVTime. (I know how to activate/configure the plugin on Freevo's side) It doesn't seem to take a channels.conf file like other software and I can't get it to look at my device (/dev/dvb/adapter0/dvs0 ), it seems to want only to look for /dev/video0 style devices. The documentation is very sparce on watching DVB. Any help much appreciated. Cheers, Bernie -- Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge This is your chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes! From the TVTime website: dvb-kernel / saa7146 tvtime should work with the V4L2 dvb-kernel driver, so long as your card has hardware MPEG2 decoding capability and can provide tvtime with raw video data. Also note that tvtime does not have the ability to change channels on these cards: you must use an external program to control the input to tvtime. Re: [Freevo-users] Video groups and mutliple channels
Alan Walls wrote: Thanks. Using MythTV as the backend might work but my WAF would drop dramatically. It is an interesting option though. I had assumed that I could record one channel per card and so was going to setup 9 channels (ie TV1-Sat1, TV1-Sat2, TV1-Aerial, ... ). But your comment suggests I can only record one channel even if I have two or more cards. So would my plan work? No. Freevo 1.x allows you to watch one program while recording another but that's it. The recordserver has no ability to use more than one card to record simultaneously. I do know python but haven't looked at the Freevo code so I don't think changing the recordserver is a good idea for me. Putting effort into helping with V2.0 would be a better plan. That would certainly be welcome. The wiki is horribly out of date. The devel list is the place to ask to get you started. I came across an issue that might be a deal breaker and want to make sure its not my misunderstandings and/or prejudice. Consider this system (which is a simplification of what I have) * A server with two DVB-S card and one analogue card * My family has three channels (TV1,TV2 TV3 {newzealand has creative channel names ;-) } ) they watch all the time. * They are available on all three cards but the analogue signal has very bad reception with lots of ghosting. What is the best way to setup Freevo? With mythtv as the backend doing the recordings and freevo as your frontend. At least I would like to record any two programs on any of the three channels using the DVB-S cards. Ideally I would like to record a third program using the lower quality card. I can live without watching live TV. I'm afraid that it's only possible to record from one device at a time regardless of whether you're watching tv on another device or not. I haven't looked at the recordingserver code but it should be possible to add multiple simultaneous recordings if you know python. If this isn't possible will version 2.0 be able to do this? Yes. Jason and Dischi would be the people to comment on when the 2.0 branch might be ready with a pre release that will allow you play around with this. Thanks for your help.
