[Freevo-users] Poor performances with mkv and mp4 files
Ciao a tutti, I have another problem: I can see really fine .avi and listen .mp3, .ogg but trying to see .mkv and .mp4 files the result is impossible because the video is really slow and not synchronized with audio. I tried to adjust something copying the line for .avi in local_conf.py also for .mkv and .mp4 and the result is the audio and video goes together but really slow! What kind of player ? files are 1080p encoded movies ? G'day, What specs are the machine you're running on? My Freevo box doesn't do HD content at all, just plays really slowly, like it is having a really hard time processing it all. Leandro, For now, 1080p movies are not yet well managed on Linux system. Have a glance to http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html and search for 2009-02-20, Friday :: Video Acceleration and You news If you gets one of the last video card generation , you may use vdpau flag in order to tell mplayer to delegate the HD decoding to video card and therefore playing 1080p movies will be possible Otherwise, try to play only 720p movies.
