[Freevo-users] Subtitles in non dvd videos

2004-09-17 Thread Barnowl
Dichi-
I have 1.5.1 installed and working well. The only problem I have in freevo now is
playing videos that have subtitles. I can run xine manually and get the subtitles to
work. when I use freevo+xine to watch the same video I can not get ti to bring up the
subtitles. I tried adding the Subtitle call to the Video list of events in event.py
from the DVD list but it had not effect. Any suggestion on where to look next? Teh
video is an ogm format file.

[Freevo-users] fbxine in1.5 fails

2004-05-02 Thread Barnowl
Hello-
Back on freevo projects again. I got dxr3 to work and play nice, fbxine works with
dxr3 from th3 command line. Now for the problem. When running Freevo in FB mode fbxine
defaults to -V vidixfb and dvd:///dvd. Both these options fail from the command line.
I think the vidixfb is do to the fact I am using and old Matrox Millenium card.
Similiar problem occurs in X, that Xine tries to run with dvd:///dev/dvd. Xine finds
dvds fine with just dvd://

[Freevo-users] SDL DXR3 patch.

2004-02-23 Thread Barnowl
Hello again-
Rebuilding my freevo install in an attempt to fix a few bugs and install faster
hardware. The problem is I can not find all the SDL patches for dxr3. I found
libsdl1.2-dxr3-ffmpeg.diff(which still dies on configure.in) but not the nokeyboard or
gcc 3 patch. Last time I built the sdl libs I used the fame patch. This maybe why Xine
was not working. I got the patch from the freevo CVS already. Just need pointers to
the rest of them.

[Freevo-users] Picture to big for tv

2004-01-04 Thread Barnowl
Hey all-
Well now that I got my config file problem solved(Xine and dxr3 still buggy) I am
trying to figure out how to get more of the image to fit inside the TV screen.
currently the image is slightly of center and the subtitles in fan subs appear at the
half of the bottom to all the way of the bottom of the screen in most cases. On a
monitor there is plenty space between the subs and the bottom of the screen. Has
anyone else seen this problem and/or solved it? My TV is NTCS and I have set to it.

[Freevo-users] XIne to dxzr3

2003-12-28 Thread Barnowl
hey all-
Okay feeling really dumb right now. Turns out my problem dumping out my dxr3 was
being caused by a rouge freevo.conf file I did not realize was in the system. Now that
most of that is working, both freevo and mplayer output to the dxr3 just fine. Cant
play DVD's though, Xine keeps failing on the dxr3. It works just fine by it self both
to a monitor and to the dxr3.

[Freevo-users] Where is the rtfm for the oversna settings?

2003-12-28 Thread Barnowl
Busy weekend for me. Got Freevo dumping to dxr3 if I set 'export SDL_VIDEODIRVER=dxr3'
manually. I have not gotten it to forward the correct display variable to mplayer or
xine yet, so still working with that. In attempting to get my video to fit the screen
(NTSC) iwas going to mess with overscan's but can not find any info on it besides a
comment form dischi in the mail archives.

I agree about the wiki. I did not need any gcc3 patch to compile SDL on Slack 9.1
(gcc3 based). Did you need to tweak pygame to get it to work? I get a slew of pygame

Re: [Freevo-users] Telling freevo to use DXR3

2003-12-19 Thread Barnowl
I have uncovered to more issues with dxr3. teh first show stopper is that freevo does
fail to export SDL_VIDEODRIVER=dxr3 when using dxr3. The second is that pygame start
to segfault if you have a different libSDL than what pygaem was compiled against.

[Freevo-users] actviating DXR3 in freevo 1.4.1 cvs

I have gotten the dxr3 sdl, mplayer and xine enabled libs installed. I am having
trouble telling freevo to use dxr3 for display. I set disply[dxr3 in freevo.conf. I
have run freevo -trace but with no useful information, it caliams everything is
working just fine. The one funnything is that with diplay=dxr3 freevo startsin in a
640x480 window in the top left corner of the monitor.

[Freevo-users] DVD play back not working 1.4rc4

2003-11-18 Thread Barnowl
Hey all-
Cool stuff with Freevo. Beats the system I built in 2000 hands down. Everything
works as expected or better(Mplayer handles AVI's better in Freevo than by itself)
except DVDs. Both Mplayer and Xine play them just find. Freevo finds the DVD drive,
and know it has a DVD even gives me the right name for the disk. When I hit enter to
play the disk the screen blinks to black for a second then returns to the Freevo movie
submenu. No errors in dmesg, syslog or on screen. Where do I start looking to fix this?
