Re: [Freevo-users] Dumb Question

2004-01-18 Thread Bikr
you are activating the plugins two times.. for example , when you start
freevo it loads plugins automatically if you don't want them you have to
unload them in your local.conf.py , if you try to load them , you'll get
that error , comment all the ones it lists that there are duplicates , out
from your local_conf.py by putting a # in front of the plugin.activate line
for each one..

Subject: [Freevo-users] Dumb Question

Hi all,

I have been trying to get this going for some time, and
I picked it up again this weekend. I did a fresh install
of 1.4.1 . I had been using 1.3. Here are a couple of
questions I hope you can help me with.

1) I get an error with my local_conf.py file. I get
an error that will not allow freevo to run, even if
all I do is copy the file. Here is the error:

WARNING: duplicate plugin activation, ignoring:

WARNING: duplicate plugin activation, ignoring:

*Snip -- Many more*

WARNING: duplicate plugin activation, ignoring:

Error: your local_config.py file has no version information
Please check freevo_config.py for changes and set CONFIG_VERSION
in ./local_conf.py to 3.91

===
What to do here? The version number is obviously in the file.

2) Is there a way to adjust the brightness, color, hue, etc. of the picture.
I am trying to use Mplayer for my viewing pleasure.

Thanks a lot,
Mike

I believe it used to be mapped to the shutdown function in freevo , however

A hard nfs mount will cause any program trying to access it to hang untill
it is restored , if the nfs share is mounted with the soft option , you will
be fine =) --Josh

When I got home from work I tried to use Freevo thinking that maybe it just
didn't like the web front haha.. It recorded video but there was no sound
present and the video was in slow motion. For some reason the video had
recorded all crazy.. Is there anyway to speed it up??? Oh and how about
sound , why did it not record sound?

I tried yesterday evening an ATI 3D Rage II+ card (that's the name of
the processor, anyway), and got the same results. The Gatos drivers seem
unstable and not work properly when using XVideo as video output driver
with TV (but it works fine when watching a DivX...) x11 works fine,
though (but eats a lot of CPU time).

Re: [Freevo-users] LIRC to stop screensaver--how?

2004-01-14 Thread bikr
You could just map a button on your remote to the escape key , when you hit
that button it'll hit escape , you could also set it up to do keystroke
combo to kick off a small macro that moves the mouse etc.. There's tons of
ways to do it if you can get lirc working ;)

If I put input 1 it's blue screen , input 0 is green with static up top ,
which for my Ati TV-Wonder VE is the no signal screen , does yours go green
with static for both 0 and 1?? and blue if no signal on 2??

2004-01-13 Thread Bikr
ahah I think I got it , went to the vcr section of course , toko out the
on from -tv then went down to the filename section and removed the right
paren , and made a new line under that containing this 'tv:// ')

hopefully that'll do it =) let's see.. --Josh

  Hello..

I've been trying to get freevo 100% setup for
some time now.  I finally got it working with my 36" VGA monitor.
The monitor only runs 640 x 480 , the guide is still a little off centered but
everything else is good now ,  just can't see the channel numbers
  etc...

I am having trouble following the docs on
recording though..  I have setup freevo , and it works , I goto the guide
and hit f6 on a program , it tells me that it is scheduled to be recorded ,
and the webfront says that it is recording it , however , it never gets
recorded..  I have my record directory set to
/media/tv    and nothing ever shows up , It freely lets me pick
other channels even though it shouldn't so that it can record etc..

The docs all mention entering a cron to run
recorddaemon.py or something but that file doesn't exist in my
/src/tv  directory..  Is this a new thing some new way of doing it ,
I have the recordserver running constantly as well using
/usr/local/freevo/freevo recordserver  and i verify that it's running by
issuing  /usr/local/freevo/freevo recordserver and it responds with
  "already running" etc..

If you have any ideas on how to get this working
correctly please let me know , as I'm in dire straights haha..
