I like the concept - it's a step by step guide rather than a manual. I don't like the way a lot of the entries (All?) are on the same page. Each entry should be a separate page. Carried to excess it makes it tough for a more experienced person to find what they want I bet. My initial take away from that is that every page in the wiki should ALWAYS have links to the previous and next steps. Steps that are optional should also have a 'skip this step' link. As this question comes up quite a bit on the list, I have just added a wiki page http://freevo.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/doc/MultiUser which need some more detailed instructions. The cache is shared and so need shared permissions. To set up freevo as a multi-user system you will need to do a bit of Linux system administration. To set the users and permissions correctly. After all it is Linux that is stopping the access of the files and not Freevo. I hear you, but I guess I need more info on what files are involved. I have the media files set up correctly - but the problems I was referring to where things like the cache folder. Could they not be set up 2775 or something by default? Wireless is essential with a 15 month old tornado that's fond of cables. I was looking at the Wireless 360 or Wiimote (and the PS3 controller in retrospect) since they utilze radio receivers that support multiple controllers on the same receiver. I believe the Logitech and other wireless models use a 1:1 controller:receiver setup. Your experience is good to know for wired controllers, and may help those reading the list archives make a purchasing decision. For the benenfit of the list, the PS3 and Wiimote controls use Bluetooth, and can work with many BT dongles. The Wireless Xbox uses a dedicated MS reciever that supports 4 controllers. I've never actually used any of them; this is where I'm lacking the experience. Last time I played any games seriously, it was on a Commodore 64 or an Atari 2600. Darn you Mike! I had no idea there were Wiimote drivers for linux. We have a Wii, and a Freevo box in the same room - and the Freevo box has no remote Now you've gone an added another Gotta Try It project to my list If anyone has any Wiimote-Freevo experience I'd love to hear it. FWIW the Wiimotes seem to be pretty well built items that fit fine in my (3 + 5 year old) kids hands. I especially like the real springs holding the batteries in so they don't get disconnected with all the flinging them around.I'm not sure what they'd be like to play 'normal' games with though - they work great with the Wii concept, but I don't think it'd translate too well for many games. I bet there will be cheaper third party controllers for the other platforms, the motion sensors in the Wiimotes are likely not cheap to reproduce.
