Re: [Freevo-users] TV Questions

Maybe this is a silly question, but you did delete the
/var/cache/freevo/xmltv_channels.pickle file after adding these into
local_config, right?

[Freevo-users] Changing channels with Mplayer

2008-01-18 Thread Greg Mischel Smith
I would like to be able to change channels with my remote control using
mplayer with a DVB card. However, it isn't working correctly.
event.pyis setup to use TV_CHANNEL_UP and TV_CHANNEL_DOWN. When I
press the buttons
on my remote that it is mapped to (CH+ and CH-), it doesn't properly scroll
through my channels. I can't understand what list it is using to scroll, but
it isn't scrolling them in order. When I press the keyboard shortcuts (k or
h), this scrolls properly. I would be happen to be able to map CH+ and CH-
to those keyboard shortcuts, but I'm unfamiliar with how to do this. Or if
someone has an idea for why TV_CHANNEL_UP and TV_CHANNEL_DOWN are not
working correctly, I would love the help.

I have Freevo 1.74 (config 5.21)
I'm using DVB to pickup Over The Air broadcast signals here in the US.
I have a PCHDTV HD-5500 card.
I'm using Schedules Direct with XMLTV.

Here is an example of a few of my channels defined in local_config.py
TV_CHANNELS = [('I30912.labs.zap2it.com', 'Fox 4', 'WDAF DT'),
   ('I34348.labs.zap2it.com', 'CBS 5', 'KCTV-DT'),
   ('I30821.labs.zap2it.com', 'ABC 9', 'KMBC-DT'),
   ('I19654.labs.zap2it.com', 'PBS 1', 'KCPT 3_'),
... ]

Here is an example of a few of my channels defined in .mplayer/channels.conf
WDAF DT:593028615:8VSB:49:52:3
KCTV-DT:533028615:8VSB:49:52:3
KMBC-DT:177028615:8VSB:49:52:3
KCPT 3_:497028615:8VSB:49:52:3
...

I set them up in the same order, but that hasn't helped with using the
remote.

Thanks for any help you can give.

It should be called I30912.labs.zap2it.com.original extension, which may
 be I30912.labs.zap2it.com.jpg

I tried it tonight and it worked. However, the extension does have to be
.png. Didn't want to accept JPEG files, go figure.
