[Freevo-users] joy module
I am having little joy with the joy module. I am using the latest stable version. It works in the epg, but not in the menus. However, in the epg, every movement is seen as two. I press down, it goes down twice. I press left it goes left twice. Buttons are real iffy too. When I press an unauthorized button (like right) while starting a DVD it crashes, otherwise they generally have no response Did I mention it is a gamepad? Anyone help me with this? As you can see I've tried a few options, some of which I am sure are quite wrong. The plugin is activated, naturally. - JOY_DEV = 1 JOY_CMDS = { 'up' : 'UP', 'down' : 'DOWN', 'left' : 'LEFT', 'right' : 'RIGHT', 'button 0' : 'PLAY', ## A 'button 1' : 'PAUSE', ## B 'button 2' : 'STOP', ## C 'button 3' : 'SELECT',## X 'button 4' : 'ENTER', ## Y 'button 5' : 'REC', ## Z 'button 6' : 'REW', ## LEFT 'button 7' : 'FFWD', ## RIGHT 'button 8' : 'select',## START 'button 9' : '', ## M } --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: VM Ware With VMware you can run multiple operating systems on a single machine. [Freevo-users] what is up with the pid files?
My record_daemon.py was constantly breaking due to the pid file in /var/run. The previous process isn't running - but that @[EMAIL PROTECTED] pid file was still there and stopping the next one. Actually, now that I think back, it's always still there but sometimes it would run and sometimes it wouldn't. And once it wouldn't, you couldn't get it to start again until you removed the pid file. What is with that? Shouldn't it be removed when the daemon exits? I had to modify my cron entry: * * * * * cd /usr/local/freevo; ./freevo execute src/tv/record_daemon.py >>/tmp/freevo.cron.out 2>&1 ; sleep 10; rm /var/run/freevo-record_daemon.py.pid >>/tmp/freevo.cron.out 2>&1 Now I'm happy, but is it an accident waiting to happen? -K --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: VM Ware With VMware you can run multiple operating systems on a single machine. I made this change to record_daemon.py (adding only the log item if it is in the window): # Don't start anything that is within 30 seconds of the end. if self.start_time <= now < (self.start_time + self.length_secs - 30): # We're inside the time window for this item log('No time! in 30 second window.') return 1 else: return 0 And it logs it every time! Is this a bug, or did I not write it in the correct location? I apologize, I don't know python yet... [Freevo-users] RE: [now] tuner error
crap! I suck. I deleted all the previous postings, so there was very little relevant information. Here's the deal: Freevo tunes channels 2-55 fine-- except for 8 and 11. There is nothing there, just snow/static. I am us-bcast, ntsc. Using kwintv, total crap, nothing tunes right. Using xawtv, I had to do a lot of fine-tuning on every channel. It's a PV-BT878P+FM.RC (card=70); I'm using tuner module 27. Hmm, I don't see that radio is on. I will stop box and open and double check the tuner module. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of K. shazam! that was it. Two channels don't work though. no.s 8 and 11. The other ten (from 2 to 55) are ok. My bad! I didn't have the hole package (1.3.2.pre2). Doh! I now have the xmltv part working, it loads the chanlist and eveyrthing. But, I still have live tv crash. Is this a problem with the kernel tuner module? (kwintv doesn't work right, but xawtv will find the channels with much fine-tuning). Errorlog: Crash! RE: [Freevo-users] epg_xmltv.py error
I got the pre2 version (is that up to date with the cvs?). This is the error I got running the epg_xmltv.py (from command line) Incidentally- I edited the Makefile and changed the log and cache directories-- I like everything to go to one place like /var/freevo/log|cache etc. And yet this epg has a separate setting for log? That sucks. RE: [Freevo-users] epg_xmltv.py error
A.P.- I was running the epg_xmltv.py from the command line. I guess I'll have to try the cvs. All- BTTV question: using xawtv I have to fine-tune each channel quite a bit. kwintv is just screwed up, no fine tuning there. Does freevo offer any fine-tuning? or is this a kernel tuner module problem and I should try some others? -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Aubin Paul Sent: Thursday, March 20, 2003 11:58 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Freevo-users] epg_xmltv.py error Regarding the first problem, you need to run epg_xmltv.py on the command-line if you have an empty TV_CHANNELS, it'll generate a list from the TV listings. As for the second problem, you can try the latest CVS which explicitly skips over missing stop dates, though since I started using tv_sort, it hasn't happened. The only situation I can think of is TV listings at the very end of the guide (i.e. shows beginning at 11 but ending afterwards) cannot be fixed by tv_sort, since xmltv doesn't know when they end. The best bet is to try a snapshot of CVS where the 'stop' bug is fixed as well as running epg_xmltv.py from the command line via 'freevo execute' On Thu, Mar 20, 2003 at 10:23:08PM -0600, K. [Freevo-users] epg_xmltv.py error
Greets- I've tried to pound my way through this, and I can't make it work. Yes- I've read the wiki and conf file. I've done the tv_grab_na|tv_sort. I've tried tv_sort --by-chan too. I've set TV_CHANNELS = 'None'; I've also tried '', and no quotes, and all lowercase. Slightly different results, but it's all broken. I also think there is something wrong with my xmltv; I can create the TV_CHANNEL entries by hand to match the xmltv exactly, and I still get a corrupted database error. After I get this fixed... then I can find out if there's a problem with the tuner module not being quite right. I get a tv module crash w/out a db trying to watch a channel. Yeah, that's a total of three problems. Grr. Perhaps I going about it the wrong way. Tuner first? epg_xmltv.py errors below. I've got the latest xmltv, and all the latest CPAN modules it required.
