1. is there any method to enable the display of the current piece

I am attaching my webradio.fxd as well

Are you certain that the station is broadcasting metadata? I'm sure I
noticed while playing web radio recently that freevo was displaying the
song. This could be affected by a number of factors, the stream itself,
the skin used, maybe even the version of player used. Can you provide a
link to the stream and we can test it?

Thanks Tanje, you helped me a lot!
I reviewed my whole fxd file and suddenly I saw the light!
It was very bright, so bright it hurted, what a fool I am...
At the bottom of each entry right below there where
and entrys, no wonder they where past on to mplayer.
Forgive me my stupidness and a happy new-year to all!!!

2006-12-29 Thread Tanja
Hi Japie,

I just was playing around with webradio.fxd.
Maybe I found something which can help you with your playlist problem.

In the source there is the following example:

 foo.jpg

 xine
===>

 http://64.236.34.141:80/stream/1005

   JAZZ
   A nice description

I do not have this thing in my webradio.fxd file.
And mplayer is never using the -playlist option for my webradio streams.

Hope that helps you
Tanja

Re: [Freevo-users] Webradio

2006-07-08 Thread Wander Winkelhorst
My guess is that the adress"
http://www.sr.se/webbradio/createasx.asp?namn=SR-p3-High" is not thesource of the streaming radio, but only a pointer to it. If that is thecase, how do I get the source? Is there something else that might be wrong?
You are correct. This is how you get the real adres:1. Download the link with wget:cd /tmp/wget 'http://www.sr.se/webbradio/createasx.asp?namn=SR-p3-High
'2. See whats inside the downloaded file:cat 'createasx.asp?namn=SR-p3-High'3. Look at what's inside:    wm.qbrick.com/02038_sr-p3-high"/>    wm.qbrick.com/02038_sr-p3-high"/>
http://sr-wm.qbrick.com/02038_sr-p3-high"/>4. Try to play the links you can find with mplayer:
mplayer 'http://sr-wm.qbrick.com/02038_sr-p3-high'5. If you hear sound, then this is your adres, if mplayer doesn't like it, try another. If you've tried them all without succes, try downloading the links with wget and goto step 2.
Happy hunting!Regards,Wander.

Re: [Freevo-users] Webradio, what am I missing?

2004-08-20 Thread bc
Getting there, but still not working. I turned on -trace and now the problem
has to do with the fact that Freevo is adding extra verbage to the command
string that is not recognized by the version of mplayer I'm using (
1.0pre5-3.3.4). I'm seeing this command in the -trace output:

app=/usr/local/bin/mplayer -slave -autosync 100 -nolirc -autoq 100 -screenw
640 -screenh 480 -fs -vo null -ao alsa -cache 100 -playlist
mms://asx.abacast.com/wxrv.asx, poll=256

The problem is the ", poll=256". If I run the command from a shell prompt
without the ", poll=256" then it works great. Any ideas on how to remove
the "poll=256"?

thanks,
bc

Add webradio to your menu by adding:
'/path/to/your/webradio.fxd'
to your AUDIO_ITEMS entry in local_config.py
Make sure that that file is there, youll find an example at:

O.K, I will dig a bit more on how to get mplayer to parse a .ram file to
extract the rtsp://.. stuff, or I could just enter all of that into the
webradio xml file cuz that works good now

2003-08-18 Thread Matthew Bettencourt
O.K, so I have mplayer working if I do something like (BTW, if someone
wants I can give out RH9 RPMS for the live.com mplayer)

./mplayer rtsp://kexp-rm.ast.cac.washington.edu/encoder/live.rm

but not if I do (The ram file contains the above line).

./mplayer ../onlineradio/U.Washington.ram

Is this what the freevo plugin live audio does?? parse the file and
start mplayer? What is the next step to get streaming working.

MMS has always been supported, as has HTTP so I think it's pretty much
covered.

Re: [Freevo-users] webradio support

2003-08-17 Thread Aubin Paul
I would recommend:

Mostly Classical
Classical Music
http://www.mostlyclassical.com/mp3/classical128k.pls

Xine works only somewhat; Mplayer follows the embedded IPs in the pls
file (which is important since mostlyclassical changes often enough to
make it annoying to hardcode the IPs)

Xine only works if you "wget" the file and parse out the ip from
there.

KillRadio.org
Punk, Folk, Country, Hip-Hop, Electronic, non-Mainstream in general
http://www.killradio.org/listen.pls

Same problem as before with Xine; mplayer works beautifully.

That's just off the top of my head.

It has more to do with mplayer; but recent (CVS of the main branch)
have much improved RealAudio streaming, and when coupled with the
live.com rtsp support, it's pretty decent overall.

MMS has always been supported, as has HTTP so I think it's pretty much

What is the status on streaming media in freevo?? Can one listen to .rm files

but I can't seem to figure out how to do any other format.
