How do you (or dtlogin) start fvwm? What command do you use for Restart? You should see an error message in the place where you have all X output. There is almost no chances that Restart without parameters would fail. Only if you removed or incorrectly replaced your currently running fvwm executable (I don't know for sure about solaris8, but linux allows this). Or maybe it always exits with your fvwm2rc (for example you have Quit command in it), not just on Restart? If you can't find the problem yourself, send your fvwm2rc. But first find the error message. Try something like this: ImagePath /dir/with/your/icons:+ Style XTerm MiniIcon mini/terminal.xpm Style XCalc MiniIcon mini/calculator.xpm Regards, Mikhael. -- Visit the official FVWM web page at http://www.fvwm.org/>. FVWM: fvwm2 restart function on solaris8 w/dtlogin
Anyone know why the xsession is killed when trying to use the restart fuction. This is very annoying esp. becuase I'm trying to fix up my fvwm2rc. I'm running 2.4.13 and dtlogin is running. -tb -- Visit the official FVWM web page at http://www.fvwm.org/>. Since that file was moved to a different directory on 11/09, I guess the 11/08 snapshot had a problem. You have 2 choices, run with make -k (keep going after errors) since you probably don't need that shell, or download a more recent snapshot. -- Dan Espen E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Visit the official FVWM web page at http://www.fvwm.org/>. FVWM: FVWM build failed
I'm trying to build the snapshot from November 8, 2002. I need this particular snapshot to run another program. Anyway, I attached the output from 'make'. I don't know what I need to do to fix this problem. Thanks for looking. -Chris __ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus Powerful. Affordable. Anyone with a reasonably steady hand (or possibly a higher quality mouse) would not need that help. And anyone with a decent memory would remember a few bindings and not need "stroke". For users with steadier hands and better memories, it would open up other combinations e.g. "157", "158","14563" and "14569". The list grows. FVWM: FvwmIconMan crashes when "drawicons: true"
As stated in the subject. I'm using the 20021121 version. For as far as I can recall, it occurs since I'm using >2.5.4 Regards, Bob -- -- http://www.BananaCorp.nl -- -- Visit the official FVWM web page at http://www.fvwm.org/>. Re: FVWM: Switching on page/desk with keyboard and focussing window
The great oracle Peter McAlpine <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> told me: > here's a little hack^H^H^H^Hscript I wrote to do just what you are looking > for. You'll need fvwm version 2.5.x I think (for the perl libs), I use > cvs 2.5.5. I just added desk switching support. Thanks Peter, just a few minutes before i read your mail, i found an entry in the mailing list archive (i think it was from you) just about this problem and the solving script. :) The problem for me is that i dont use the "unstable version". Is it stable enough for the daily work? Easy to compile or any problems? For 2.4.x i solved the problem by configuring Fvwm like this: Key 1 AMGoToPage1 AddToFunc flipfocus-and-raise + "I" FlipFocus + "I" Raise AddToFunc GoToDesk1 + "I" GoToPage 0 0 + "I" Next [CurrentPage] flipfocus-and-raise + "I" Prev [CurrentPage] flipfocus-and-raise It works for a ClickToFocus-Environment but i will try the 2.5.x version on the weekend and your script. Thanks a lot. -Jason -- Visit the official FVWM web page at http://www.fvwm.org/>.
