10.3.3. on a Pismo.
It claims that networked servers will appear in the sidebar. But that
applied before in my 3.2. Can't discern any changes - good or bad. What
should I be looking for? (I'd love to be able to make appearance
changes - fonts etc - in iCal). TONY

Sound advice needed

For setting up to play tunes in hotel room, etc. Any
advantages, other than storage limits and Visualizer
performance, for audio performance on PowerBook
vs. iBook? Does either do a better on mid-high range
letting me leave the satellites at home and just lug a
subwoofer? Can anyone recommend a lighterweight
woofer? What's your overall favorite travel sound setup?

Pismo Apple's Airport Card Earthlink Cable Svc

2004-03-17 Thread Norm Kamp
I just installed Earthlink Cable Service today. Currently to be
shared with an older Desktop Mac and my 500 mz Pismo. What is the
best way to network? Apple's AirPort Card is $79.00, is this the
correct way to proceed? If so, will the Airport Card work with
another manufactures Base Station such as D-Link or do I need to
purchase an Apple product?

Re: Sound advice needed

2004-03-17 Thread Hugo Trottier
Just my 2 cents but you may want to go to a large retail store and try
on Altec Lansing
Portable speakers for iPods, and also from Monster Cables the iSpeakers
Portable.
That might just be the thing for you. Also a great set of ear/head
phones could do the trick.
Sony (among others) have a wide variety, so does Shure and even
Wireless ones.

Kind Regards

Re: OS 10.3.3 (problems? not LaCie) Stuffit Deluxe

2004-03-17 Thread Don P.
I have had several Unexplained Quits from Stuffit
Deluxe 8.0.2 since install of OS 10.3.3 while I am on
the Web. It doesn't seem to make any other problems

Any comments on the Net not being the Web? This issue
seems to confuse many people and should probably be
explained since it is critical to communication and
there is (perhaps not so obviously, but importantly, a
difference)

10.3.3 - Office X issue

2004-03-17 Thread Neil MacKay
Greetings,

On a 12PB after upgrading to 10.3.3 I had to re-enter all my
registration info for any Office X app to load. Office had reverted
back to it's first run state. After re-entering the info all seems
fine.

Probably a Microsloth issue :)

I haven't tried all my applications yet, but a big thing is the networking.
My OS 9 Lombard did not show up under network previously, and to connect to
it from my 10.3.2 Cube, I had to manually type in the IP address. Now, it
shows up, making connecting that much easier.
