iTunes Wallstreet with OS 9.1
Hello all. I have a problem and would like your help. I am trying to fix up a Wallstreet II, (OS 9.1, 64mb ram, 8gb hard disk) and use I tunes v2.0.4 on it. When I installed it I got an error message that says my hard disk and built in cd ROM drive does not support digital data extraction from internal audio cd's. When I manually import music into my I tunes Library, I get the following message: Your computer does not support digital data extracted from internal audio cd's. Digital data extraction has been disabled. The import button is grayed out. I can add music to my I tunes library if I hook up a portable FireWire cd/r. I assume I should be able to do same, if I hook up a portable SCSI cd/r or cd. Has any one run into to this problem? Is their a way to use the cd module for the Wallstreet with I tunes? I am not looking for the ability to hook up to a iPod, just rip and listen to some music on my laptop while I work. Thanks All Ken Vann == Old Mac's have new uses with WiFi. My problem is the light bulb replacement for a Lombard and I take it the disassembling guides you point to will still be valid (with minor differences). I wonder though about the specific bulb. I know the Lombard and Pismo displays are not interchangable, but I well suppose the bulb at least should be the same part. But I'd like to get a definitive word on that from some knowledge source. Sorry, I can't give detailed information. There are two display panels used in both the Lombard and Pismo (661-2217 LG and 922-3808 Samsung), each of which has its own specific cable (which was why I couldn't put a bright display panel from a Lombard into my Pismo); the light bulbs may also be different. The actual fluoruoescent bulb in each display is the same. For that matter, it appears to be the same in every 14 display I have taken apart. It can be removed with a #00 philips screwdriver, you have to take apart the actual metal frame of the LCD. And yes, it's a job that can be done at home. If you can get to the point where the LCD is out of the housing, you can do this too. JSH -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and...
