iChat AV on Pismo

2003-06-30 Thread Steven Schwartz
Mike,
I tried iChat AV on my B&W tower (G3, 400mHz) with my JVC digital movie
camera. No go.
The same setup worked flawlessly on my 17" Powerbook.
It appears that the program will only enable the video portion if it
sees a processor faster than the 600 MHz G3.

Subject: iChat AV and iSight, with a Pismo?
From: "Michael J. Granado" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Just wanted to know if anyone has tried using iChat AV (and maybe the
iSight or any other firewire camera) with a NON-upgraded Pismo G3
400mhz with 640MB RAM? The minimum requirements say 600mhz on Apple's
Website. Just wanted to know what you guys have found out. Any info
would be most appreciated. Thanks.
Mike

"Serial port not recognized" on Wallstreet

2003-01-16 Thread Steven Schwartz
I have a Wallstreet, upgraded with Sonnet's 500MHz G4 card, 512 RAM,
running OS 10.2.3. Whenever we start up, I get an error message that
says, "serial port not recognized". The problem is that this is the
port thru which I connect my Palm cradle.
Any ideas?

OWC

I don't usually like to rant on the list, (especially
if I don't have anything to offer as an answer to the
question posted), but I wanted to make an exception in
the case of OWC.

I too have recently sworn off OWC due to a recent
(beyond) shoddy customer service experience that took
more than 5 months to resolve a problem and have taken
my recent purchases (120GB firewire HD, Toast
Titanium, Dazzle DV bridge, USB CD-RW, etc) elsewhere.

I tried over the past three days to place a phone order with OWC, and
after staying on hold for probably a total of 2 hours, finally gave up.
Based on their inability to answer the phone, I'd say they're either
incompetent or out of business.

Wallstreet Upgrades

2002-10-16 Thread Steven Schwartz

Similar to the recent postings, I'm looking at Wallstreet upgrades. I
have a 300MHz Wallstreet, and am looking at more RAM and the Sonnet G4
upgrade card. Opinions?
