Installing a printer
So, I have the OS X drivers for my Canon i470D printer. My printer is available via the network as it is attached to a print server device. I install the printer drivers on my G4 iBook by running the installation file. I try to add the new printer and the one I have is not on the list of Canon printers. Shared printers
So, on my network is a PC running Windows XP, a G4 iBook and a G3 iMac (both running OSX 10.3.7 or whatever the latest version is). The XP PC has a printer attached to it (a Canon i470D). I have told XP to share the printer. How do I go about telling the Ibook to use this printer (if it can at all)? My intial thoughts were to d/load the OSX drivers for the printer, install them on the iBook, connect to the Printer share see what happens. Good morning, New list member here, just saying hello. I'm located in Reading, which is in the south east of England. I'm pretty new to my iBook too - its a 12 G4 800 MHz machine fitted with an airport extreme card installed with the latest version of Mac Office but otherwise is standard. As it happens, I have a 512Mb SODIMM hanging around that I could bung into the iBook, but don't know if this is the right thing to do. Given that its got 256Mb hard-wired in, does that mean my 512Mb SODIMM is too large for it as the total will exceed 640Mb?
