Re: 'New' Pismo probs.
Thanks for your suggestions Laurent. Swapping bits between the old and new Pismos, I have isolated two separate problems; the interminable boot seems to be a HD cable problem, so will try to fix or get a new cable. But the PMU needs to be reset every time I restart otherwise I don't get any video (black screen). What could this be? Is there any point to reinstall the firmware? System profiler shows; Hardware Overview: Machine Model: PowerBook CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (11.4) Number Of CPUs: 1 CPU Speed: 550 MHz Memory: 768 MB Bus Speed: 100 MHz Boot ROM Version: 4.1.8f5 Would appreciate any suggestions, Thanks, Stuart. If you put back the old processor, do you have to reset the PMU everytime you restart? I think you have the latest firmware but I would have to check on my Pismo, which I don't have right now. Maybe another Pismo owner could verify in System Profiler? -Laurent. -- Laurent Daudelin AIM/iChat: LaurentDaudelinhttp://nemesys.dyndns.org Logiciels Nemesys Software mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sometimes the majority only means that all the fools are on the same side. -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and...
