Adapter for cig lighter
Any recommendations on an adapter to use my iBook in the car? I see that Linksys has one that will actually allow you to plug a 2 or 3-prong plug into it, while others (APC was one that I saw) just allows you to plug the ibook into the lighter. I have a power inverter for the car which allows me to plug ANYTHING into the lighter, not just one computer which will eventually be replaced by another. I just make sure it's unplugged before the car is turned on or off (which you should probably do with anything plugged into the lighter). Especially as I use it with a portable battery pack sometimes. However you can buy an inverter for much less than $80. It includes different plugs for AC, auto/boat, and airplane, as well as an assortment of tips that can be plugged into a wide variety of laptops. It also offers a way to plug in a cell phone charger at the same time. They have a variety of models and features. I have the Juice 70 and have been using it for years.
