I did this Combo updating for all of the 10.2 incremental updates and never had the problems many others were talking about, including early adopters of 10.2.8 before that was reissued. It's possible you have a problem with your battery unrelated to the early battery problem of 10.2.8 and that updating somehow triggered the error. Have you also recently taken apart your machine? Actually I believe I just went straight to 10.2.8 My machine was attached to the net at the time and the window popped up saying it found the various updated software for my machine and 10.2.8 was listed. You haven't installed the old wrongly build of 10.2.8. I'd do a complete reinstall with reset of PRAM and Open Firmaware resets and then use the 10.2.8 *combo* updater if I suspected the 10.2.8 had problems. I had no probs with 10.2.8 combo on my WS II.
