GPS Software (again)

2004-02-06 Thread Pat Heidingsfelder
Sorry everyone for the slightly bad link. I was in a hurry

The link is to a petition to try and get Garmin and Magellan, the two
biggest names in GPS to port there software to OS X. Users of the
Mapsource and other software are having to use virtual PC or switch to
pc. The main reason to use the said software would be to transfer maps
to handheld GPSes. Here is another link hope it works

http://www.gpscity.com/gps/brados/3215.1.12398727029410847560/
macsignup.html

Thanks for all the help! I knew I could depend on the Mac community!!!

Pass the link along to other Mac users!!

Re: GPS Software (again)

2004-02-06 Thread Bruce Mitchell
I don't think it was anything you did. It comes through as a split link,
where the bit on the second line is not underlined so is not actually read
as part of the link when you click on it.

However, I found that cutting and pasting did not do the trick either. What
worked was to click the link, let it go to the 404 error in the browser,
then cut and paste adding the second line on the browser, click again...
only then did it work for me.

Thanks for the posting... great idea! I have sent it along to the Mac_X list
and every Mac user I know.

BTW, another reason is to have the GPS tracking software available on the
Mac. I had to get a PC laptop to have that capability.

I am definitely interested as I have been told by supposed experts that
there is no Mac GPS software, only PC.

But, I got a 404 message with no means of searching or trying the links
since I don't know what you are suggesting we sign.

Please give a bit of info of about what the Mac signup is for.

Thanks,

Bruce
