Is the clamshell iBook worth upgrading to 450MHz when that technology
is available?
Just wondering.
Thanks.

Since the processor is soldered on, I don't see the technology becoming
available. The Pismo is the last model with a removeable processor
card. You may be able to swap out the motherboard from a 466 clamshell
model (depending on which revision you have), but getting into the
iBooks is difficult at best. Plus you might have to modify the case for
the extra firewire port.

It depends on a lot of things. :-)
A lot of people will tell you that it is not worth it as they are old
computer, as far as computers go.
But the Clamshells have a unique style and are unlike anything else out
there so if you want something like that they are good.
They are also pretty rugged as far as portables go.
Still sell for good prices on ebay or elsewhere, I watched a Key Lime
366 sell on ebay, a month or so ago, for $1025.00US.
The downside is that they are a bit bulky when compared to the new
iBooks or PowerBooks

If you can get a logic board for a decent price it could be worth it. I
don't know if you have a firewire one or not but the 466mhz boards do
so if you have one that does not have firewire you will have to cut a
hole in your case. I have seen it done and none of the other ports are
moved so seems pretty easy.
