Re: RAM for Powerbook (brand/where)

2005-02-22 Thread Jan Musil
I'm buyng my RAM at the zipzoomfly.com, always much lower prices than many
other distributors, timely delivery (free 2nd day FedEx) and none of the
memory chips I purchased had problems.

Data Memory Systems sell 1 GB for the PowerBook G4 for $229. I bought memory
from them before and always been satisfied. NewEgg.com has also 1 GB memory
modules starting around $150. I bought my 1GB from them for $202 a few
months ago and it's been working fine since then in my PowerBook 17.
However, they don't mention Mac compatibility. So, you have to carefully
check the specs that you need and, if possible, see in their customer
comments if someone had tried it with success...

gib /jib/: 1. vi. To destroy utterly. Like frag, but much more violent and
final. There's no trace left. You definitely gibbed that bug. 2. n.
Remnants after total obliteration. Originated first by id software in the
game Quake. It's short for giblets (thus pronounced jib), and referred to
the bloody remains of slain opponents. Eventually the word was verbed, and
leaked into general usage afterward.

Have a look at
http://dealram.com/prices/systems/23073/1GB.html
For my 1.5 GHz 12 PB, I got a 1GB Kingmax module because one
of the NewEgg customer reviews mentioned it worked successfully
with a 12 PB.

I've gotten RAM from them for my G3 (PC133) that's worked fine, that's
also where my processor upgrade and video card have come from...

The RAM upgrade in my iBook says AZENRAM on the package it came out
of. It seems to work fine.
