Run the Lombard until it really dies or until your kid complains about performance, and enjoy the Cube! There is another more radical option, my Dad is sending me a G4 cube that he has replaced with a G4 iBook. I've always like the aesthetics of the G3 powerbooks but the cube is every bit as good looking and has the added attraction of being free. Go with the Cube... or sell it and get a new iBook yourself.
