Re: Removing obsolete apps

2016-04-21 Thread Ivan Marsh
Hi,

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "safely" remove apps. In general you can
just drag them to the trash and poof they are gone. If you want to make
sure that 100% of the associated files go with them then you can use an app
deletion tool such as appzapper or something similar.

Here is a good breakdown of those kinds of apps for you.

I just purchased the latest version of Quicktime Pro and it does a beautiful

Re: iMac G5 Crashing

Funny you should mention leopard as I am running 10.5.6 there. I don't have
a tiger disk handy to try but I'm not sure if thats it I had a devil of a
time installing from the Leopard disk it kept crashing at the very end so
would that be a leopard issue even? I am just not sure if its running
leopard enough to blame at that point.

I have tried resetting Pram, PMU, ETC pretty much all options I did manage

which part of it to post on here. It is all quite long. I am not sure it is
a software issue I am beginning to lean towards motherboard but I would like

Put the old memory back in and see if that fixes the problem. Also are you
sure you used the right kind of memory you keep calling them simms but Beige
G3's use PC66 Dimms quite different from simms really.

P.S. More specifically PC66 168pin SDRAM memory. Although most machines I
have used tend to run fine with PC100 as well.

Also sometimes just cleaning all the dirt out is helps things work if its as
dirty as you say. Best way to clean that stuff off is to remove the
motherboard and scrub it with as high of percent rubbing alcohol as you can
get 90% or better would be best.
