I almost reposted this question as I knew I worded it wrong. What I
meant was that I no longer have access to the computer I wish to de-
authorize. I know how to do it with a computer that is in use.
Someone told me it is possible to go somewhere in the iTunes store
and de-authorize a computer that is no longer being used. I hope I
made that clear this time. Sorry.

Just a message from Doug...

Same answer, you just deauthorize all of 'em.
However, you only get to do it once a year.

There's information on that at the bottom of this article:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1206

Basically, you have to Deauthorize All and then Authorize again the
computers still in use. This option is only available to you once a year.

AFAIK, all versions of iTunes that work with the iTunes store have a
deauthorization option. In iTunes 8.01 go to the store menu and 2/3
the way down is a Deauthorize Computer option.

That's what I needed to know, but it doesn't work unless all 5 of
your slots are full. I only have 4 on now, so I guess I will wait a
bit before I can do it. Thanks Tony
